4 Ivy Spencer and Roy Forecast Our sympathy, love and prayers are extended to the families of Ivy Spencer (who died on 14th December 2017) and Roy Forecast (who died on 15th December 2017). Ivy and Roy were both members at Priory Methodist Church. Roy's funeral will be held at Priory at 12.45pm on Thursday 11th January, followed by interment at the Keysoe Woodland Burial Ground. Ivy's funeral will be held at Priory at 11.00am on Thursday 18th January, followed by a private Committal. Viv Smith and Stanley Smith Our sympathy, love and prayers are extended to the families of Viv Smith who died on 22nd December 2017 her funeral will be 25th January at Keysoe Woodland Burial Ground followed by a thanks giving at 12 noon at Priory. Also our sympathy, love and prayers are extended to the families of Stanley Smith who died on 25th December his funeral will be Friday 19th January 11.30am at Willington Methodist Church followed by a burial at the Parish Church Yard. Willington Lunch We have had to cancel the Willington Lunch that was scheduled to take place on January 8th due to illness. We hope to return to normal for the February lunch. Pat Lilley Tuesday Fellowship Tuesday Fellowship starts on 9th January at 2.30pm.All are welcome to join us. Jasine Belinfante School Christingles It is a delight to be able to welcome all the children from Goldington Green Academy to Priory on Friday next, 12 th January, for their Christingle services. There will be 2 groups, morning and afternoon. Please can you help in any of the following ways: Making up bags from am on Wednesday 10 th January (roughly an hour) Preparing oranges at 9.30am on Thursday 11 th January (1 2 hours) Greeting the children and handing out bags on Friday 12 th January at 9.45am and 1.45pm. If you have any queries, contact Liz Little (Lizlittlebedford@gmail.com) Please also pray that the children, teachers and helpers will be blessed by this service. Thank you Thank yous Belated thanks for all the enquires, messages and cards I received following my operation and during my recovering, thanks also for the Church flowers I received. Ruth Johnson Quiz Night Willington's Quiz Night and Supper on Saturday 20th January, please see the poster on the notice board in the welcome area for details. Winter Contributions We have sent a large box of blankets, 30 assorted knitted hats and 21 different sizes of jumpers to OPERATION ORPHAN just before Christmas. These items may be sent to earthquake victims in Iran and the constant need in the Yemen. Thank you for your contributions.

5 Flower Board If you would like to make a donation for flowers in the Church on a particular Sunday, please put your name in the appropriate box and give your contribution to Sue Butler a couple of weeks beforehand. It does not need to be a significant Sunday for you, although you may choose to remember a particular date. If the date is special to you, it may well be that someone else also wishes to donate on that day, and we hope that in the spirit of Christian love, you will be happy to share your joys and sadnesses. Pastoral Committee The next meeting of the Pastoral Committee is on Wednesday January 17th at 2.30pm. Layettes To Palestine We have had a 'thank you' from Rev. Nichola Jones and the team of ladies who took our layettes and teddy bears that we had made out to Palestine in November. Thanks immensely for the LAYETTES which were so well received. It was a shattering trip cos the soldiers now shoot at children most days and so many are killed and injured, very hard to watch each day and hear accounts of what happens to the kids we visited... N.B. Find Alternativity on Iplayer on BBC2 for 17th and 20th December when Danny Boyle of Olympics fame and film maker went to the Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem and with Banksy organised and filmed a nativity with the Christians there under the glare of the soldiers in the watch towers. The programmes (2 episodes) is a moving account of what is happening there. Hazel, Susanne and The Team of Knitters Peter Fletcher I am very sorry to pass on to you the sad news that Peter Fletcher (Local Preacher and former senior Circuit Steward) died peacefully at home on Christmas Day. Please remember them in your prayers, as well as giving thanks for Peter's life of faithful Christian service in so many ways. Peter's funeral service is on 19th January at 10am at Bedford Crematorium and 12 noon at Flitwick Methodist Church for a service of celebration. Everyone is invited to either or both. anyone is thinking of coming to the Thanksgiving service at Flitwick Methodist Church on Friday 19th January noon (Preceded by a service at Bedford Crematorium at 10am) could you please let me know via pfletcher@ormail.co.uk. A full vision and sound system will be in place relaying the service to other rooms in the church so no one will miss anything. In fact you get a better view of everything if you are not in the church! We are also providing refreshments and some idea of numbers would also be useful. 6 Stockings on the Street 2017 Many many thanks to you and your Churches for the generosity you have shown towards those who will be on the streets of Bedford this Christmas. The photo below shows the bags all packed up and ready to be handed out at SMART Prebend on 20 th December. You have provided 99 sets of hat, scarf and gloves, and two bags of thick socks to boot! Thank you so much for your gifts, your talents and your prayers. They will be very much appreciated. Date for your diary Following worship on Sunday 28 th January, there will be training for us all on the use of the defibrillator, lasting around an hour. 7 Cleaner St Andrew s, Kimbolton Road, Bedford. 12 hours per week - equivalent to 5,100 per annum. St Andrew s wishes to appoint a Cleaner to work alongside the Church Centre Manager and Caretaker to assist with the day to day cleaning of the Church Centre, Monday to Saturday.
