Friday 17 th November 7.00pm Claystation Celebration Event Join us for this special reception and see the shoal of clay fish installed in the Cathedral. This unique sculpture features over one hundred hand-made porcelainpaper clay fish, made by people in Portsmouth from children and toddlers right through to some of our oldest citizens. Each fish is decorated with messages of hope and love by the people who created them. The evening will feature special guests, including Keith Brymer-Jones from BBCs 'The Great Pottery Throw Down'. All welcome. Register here on Eventbrite - Saturday 18 th November 9.30am Junior Sing! A choir for children in Years 3-6. Come and have fun singing! Refreshments provided during the morning for children, as well as bacon sandwiches, tea, coffee, and morning papers for parents. Friday 24 th November 8.00pm Organ Concert Roger Sayer (Organist & Director of Music, Temple Church, London) Our evening concert series continues in celebration of the completion the new en-chamade Trompete de Maris. This next concert will be given by Roger Sayer. Roger Sayer is Organist and Director of Music at The Temple Church, London, having previously held the same position at Rochester Cathedral. He is also Deputy Chorus Director and Accompanist to the London Symphony Chorus. The programme for the concert includes Bach, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Duruflé, Alain, and more. Tickets 10, ( 8 concessions) through Eventbrite on the door, and at Cathedral Shop.

December Saturday 2 nd December 11.00am to 2.00pm Christmas Fair Annual Christmas Fair at Portsmouth Cathedral featuring gifts, crafts, raffle, homemade cakes and free activities for children. Cost of admission 50p, accompanied children free. Santa s Grotto admission 1 including gift.

Music: Missa de Angelis Panufnik 6.00pm Choral Evensong Sung by the Cathedral Choir. 7.00pm Mark s Gospel bought to life at Portsmouth Cathedral Immediately after Evensong, Stefan Smart is putting on a stunning production of Mark s Gospel at the Cathedral. A solo dramatisation of the complete Gospel with an up-to-date setting, plenty of action, many moving moments and not a little humour! There is no charge but there will be the opportunity to contribute to a retiring collection. Stefan Smart is an actor with thirty years experience as a teacher of English and Drama. Over recent years he has put on various productions of St. Mark s Gospel in churches and youth camps in the South of England and abroad, as well as performing on Songs of Praise. Recently he completed a tour of Speakers Corners across the country and was invited to return to some of the venues including St Mary s Church, Lichfield and Bristol Cathedral.

7 Tuesday 12 th December 2.00pm Silver Screen Film Miracle on 34 th Street (1947) Christmas themed film screening in Becket Hall following Lunch Club. Tickets free from the Cathedral Shop. Saturday 16 th December 2.00pm Messy Christmas Join us for a special Christmas themed Messy Cathedral. An hour of fun and craft activities followed by the telling of the Christmas Story, and a special Christmas themed tea. Suitable for all ages. 8.00pm The Nelson Consort Christmas Concert A welcome return of one of the region s finest chamber choirs. The eight singers of the Nelson Consort, under Director Oliver Hancock, offer a programme of music for Christmas. Tickets 10 ( 8 concessions) with refreshments available. 8 Cathedral Christmas Carol Services A traditional service of lessons and carols sung by the Cathedral Choir. Tis the season. Warm glasses of mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies will be on sale before and after the Carol Service. From pm, and after the service from pm. On Thursday & Saturday outside on the south front of the Cathedral and in Becket Hall; on Friday outside only. Everyone more than welcome. Please note, the Cathedral will be closed from 4.15pm and will open at 6.15pm pm on Thursday 21 st, Friday 22 nd, and Saturday 23 rd December Sunday 24 th December Christmas Eve 8.00am Holy Communion (BCP) 10.30am Eucharist Said 2.30pm Crib Service (I) A re-telling of the Christmas Story for all ages with congregational participation. 4.00pm Crib Service (II) A re-telling of the Christmas Story for all ages with congregational participation. 6.30pm Carols with Blessing of the Crib An opportunity for quiet reflection in anticipation of Christmas with a sequence of music, readings and hymns. Sunday 7 th January 6.00pm Annual Theme Launch Join us for the launch our new Annual Theme A Journey through Time. We will use the entire Cathedral for this inaugural event, featuring projections, a special performance featuring music from the Cathedral Choir, and other natural elements to evoke the passage and marking of time. Friday 26 th January 8.00pm Organ Concert Adrian Lucas (Former Director of Music, Worcester Cathedral) Our evening concert series continues in celebration of the completion the new en-chamade Trompete de Maris. This next concert will be given by Adrian Lucas. Adrian Lucas is formerly Director of Music at Worcester Cathedral. The programme for the concert includes Bach, Elgar, Rachmaninov, Whitlock, and more. Tickets 10, ( 8 concessions) through Eventbrite, on the door, and the Cathedral Shop. Saturday 27 th January 11.00am to 12.30pm Bereavement Drop-in Monthly group for those who have been recently bereaved, know someone who is terminally ill, or are still experiencing grief, pain or anger from loss in the past. Members of the Cathedral bereavement team will be there to listen, to offer support and encouragement. Tea and coffee provided. 2.00pm Messy Cathedral An hour of fun and craft activities followed by a short service and afternoon tea. Suitable for all ages.
