3 NEW EVENING SERVICE Sunday 4th November pm at All Saints Church All Saints is going to launch a new style of evening service called ENGAGE. ENGAGE will be slightly different from our other services. Our vision for ENGAGE is to have a bit more time available for creativity, interaction, time of worship and space to meet deeply with God. ENGAGE will run once a month and for its launch on November 4th we have a very special guest, the Bishop of Stockport the Rt Rev Libby Lane. ENGAGE will start at 6pm with pizza and light refreshments and will finish by 8pm. Helen has visited for the last few years, but this will be an opportunity to meet Hannah for this first time, following her appointment earlier this year. During the service they will share some of their news and tell us about developments that have taken place at school since Helen visited us with Kate and Daryl in November I know that you will give them both a warm welcome! Our evenings are made up of exciting activities such as singing, playing instruments, reading Scripture, drama, craft, enjoying fellowship together and much, much more. Our next meeting is on... We help children and families living in Manchester and Salford with everyday items most of us take for granted. All the families we support are affected by poverty. Wood Street s mission is to help alleviate the effects of poverty on local children and their families through practical help. Wood Street s vision is that all children in Manchester and Salford should live a life free from poverty. Wood Street Mission is committed to help achieve this through offering practical help and services to families and supporting them as they try to lift themselves out of poverty. TOY COLLECTION Sunday 1st December 2018 Each year we collect toys to be sent to the Wood Street Mission who in turn distribute them to needy families in the Manchester Area. This year it has again been requested that toys are NOT gift-wrapped. Please bring gifts along to any of the services on 1st December 2018.

6 MONTH 2 - Morning Teaching A varying selection of talks from New Wine 2018 will be available on the church website over the next 10 months. These talks will be changed approximately once a month. We have purchased just one copy of each talk from New Wine and have been given permission to share within our church so we ask that you please do not share them with other people. To access the talks you will need to go to the resource section of the website (allsaintsmarple.co.uk). You will be asked for a password to access the talks. 7 100 DAYS OF PRAYER DAWN PRAYER CELEBRATION On the 11 th November 2018 we will be holding a second Dawn Prayer Event where we will be celebrating a hundred days of prayer. The event will begin at 4am at CONNECT and we will be praying into the topics listed below. If you are able to join us that would be wonderful as we encounter God together in praying for the needs of the Church, Marple, our nation and the world. We will eat breakfast together at 7.30am and will Prayer Walk to church at 9am. The event will finish by our praying for God s blessing upon the Act of Morning Worship and this will take place between 9.30am and 10am at All Saints in the Prayer Room at the back of Church. The itinerary for prayer topics is as follows: am - Thanksgiving for 100 Days Of Prayer Prayers of thanks to be offered for the many topics we have prayed for through out 100 hundred days of Prayer and for all God has been doing am - Preparing the Ground Often before Revival has come in places and spaces, the spiritual ground of a community may need tending to so that the soil into which the seeds of the gospel are planted, is ripe for growth. Here we will be praying for the spiritual soil of Marple to be soil which is ripe for the growth of the Kingdom of God am - Stones as Stumbling Blocks The Christian life is often described as a journey and throughout this journey we encounter stumbling blocks that get in the way of our growth in Christ. During this section we will be praying for ourselves, friends and loved ones regarding the stumbling blocks that may be preventing people coming to faith or growing in faith am - Shops During this section we will be praying for the shops of Marple and for the prayer requests of shop keepers.

8 am - Churches Together This will be an opportunity to join with our brothers and sisters from other denominations for the development of God s church as a whole in Marple am - Poppies This section will focus around the theme of Remembrance Day and there will be opportunity to creatively pray for those at war, those who have lost loved ones in war and also for any other need that we or our loved ones are facing at this time. It will also be a silent section am - Breakfast... bacon butties, tea cakes, tea and coffee am - Imaginative Contemplation leading into section of intercession for the lonely Imaginative contemplation was designed by St. Ignatius of Loyola in the 16 th century as a means of entering into the scene of a gospel story. We will be led through this by Martin Makin using Luke 5:2-16. This will lead us to pray for those in lonely and deserted places am - Prayer Walk to Church Here we will carry our prayers up to church and also be prompted by any sights and sounds en route that God may wish to show us am - Ministering to Jesus The woman who anointed Jesus with perfume performed an act of costly devotion that had no other motive other than pure worship. This section is to prepare us for worship, in itself an act which ministers to Jesus. Prayer changes people, communities, circumstances and, crucially, ourselves. Please join us in this celebratory and intercessory event and please invite others along not connected to All Saints, who may well be unaware of the event. All are welcome.
