1 19 th February 2017 Priory Methodist Church Weekly Newsletter We welcome you to worship God with us today. We light the Peace Candle and pray for peace in the world. Call To Worship Lord God, you took the biggest risk you could possibly take: you came to earth to live and die for us. We come before you in praise and worship this morning, praying that we too will be willing to take risks in your service, and bring glory to your name. Amen. Our Minister is the Reverend Andrew Hollins If you would like a bible during the service there are some available in chair backs or from the bookcase in the welcome area. A special welcome to any visitors with us today We serve tea, coffee and soft drinks after the morning services in the small hall each week. Do stay and meet together with us.

Tuesday Fellowship Tuesday Fellowship meeting on the 21st February at 2.30 pm. Can you think of a favourite song of your choice if you have a CD with this on please bring it. It gives the correct date/time for the next Circuit Healing Service - Sunday 30th April at 6pm - but the incorrect venue. It should be Haynes Methodist Church, NOT Henlow Methodist Church. Baptisms The names of the two children who will be baptised during the Methodist Worship service at Priory on Sunday 26th February are Zachary and Matilda Rocks. Their parents are Matthew Rocks and Ashleigh Philp. Safeguarding If you are one of the people who have been notified that you need a Safeguarding Refresher Course, the next training will be on Tuesday 21st February at 9.45am for 10.00am at Cardington Methodist Church. 5 IMPORTANT DATE FOR ALL CHURCH MEMBERS Priory Annual Church Meeting - Sunday 12th March am pm This annual meeting of Priory members is responsible to appoint/reappoint church officers (Church Council Secretary, Treasurer, Pastoral Secretary, Goldington Churches Together, Senior Worship Steward, Junior Church, Safeguarding Officer, Property Committee, HR, Priory representatives to quarterly Circuit meetings, and Congregation Representatives to Priory Church Council). The meeting is open to all. Voting is restricted to Priory Church Members. Priory needs more people to volunteer for these roles and in particular as Congregation Representatives. If you are interested to volunteer please contact Andrew or any of the "photo-faces" on the leadership team board in the vestibule. You can also "sign up" at the meeting. For further information please contact Tony Johnson, Church Council Secretary. Holiday Activity Club PLT and others are planning a Holiday Activity Club in August. More people are needed to work with children, prepare craft, to provide music, drama, tech support and provide refreshments. We cannot proceed if we don't have enough people. If you are able to help, please use the sign up sheet in the welcome area or carmen.rowe753@btinternet.com Soup Run Has anyone got ½ hour to spare on a Sunday evening once a month to help give out soup, hot drinks and sandwiches at the bottom of De Parys Avenue to those folk in our town who are hungry. Flower Donors The flower donor board for 2017 is in the welcome area by the door. Please feel free to sign up for any Sunday and then give your donation in an envelope with your name on, to Sue Butler. Pastoral CD Copies of Church Services CD copies are available of various Priory Services and other functions by filling in the PINK slip called Request for Pastoral CD Copy. These slips can be found on the table at the front of the Church. CD copies are available FREE to Priory Church members. However a small donation would be gratefully accepted and should be put directly in the offertory plate. If more than one copy is required then see Steve Gordon directly. Unfortunately taped copies cannot be provided. Special functions like Weddings etc. can be catered for but will require timely notice and must be directed to the Minister. Pastoral Cards We have a very good selection of pastoral cards. These are kept in the Stewards Vestry. If you wish to send a card please help yourself.
