Intercession Names Thank you to those who have made contact with Lesley Handy to update her about people who need to remain on the prayer list or need to be taken off. Every quarter we review the prayer list to ensure it is up-to-date. As we celebrate music this week at our festival we remember that God created us to be instruments with the ability to sing and make music. Music is an important part of worship and praise to God, so it only seems fitting that bible verses about music can be found throughout the bible. Rejoice in the sound through this collection of bible verses about music! Psalm 95: 1 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 6 Retiring Collection this Month Rays of Sunshine is an award-winning national children's charity that brightens up the lives of seriously ill children in the UK aged three to 18 years old by granting wishes, granting hospital ward wishes and organising outings and large-scale events. Dion s Wish was to be Batman for a day - Seven-year-old Dion, is currently living with Leukaemia. His greatest wish was to be Batman for a Day and to go in a Helicopter. Rays of Sunshine Charity were honoured to be able to grant his very special wish. Dion s special day included a unique Batmobile, a helicopter ride and a visit from Batman s special hero friends. This experience allowed Dion to enjoy a day away from his typical routine of hospital treatment and replace it with a day of adventure and excitement, which he could share with his whole family. Special Prayer Request Please continue to pray for Maisie Combes-Shier and Danny both 4 months old. They had open heart surgery on the 5 th of June and both are stable in hospital. 8 St. Barnabas one of the earliest Christian disciples at Jerusalem; an Apostle, but not one of the original twelve. A Jewish Cypriot and a Levite, he was originally called Joseph; the name Barnabas means son of consolation. He introduced Paul to the other apostles, and with him undertook the first missionary journey, which began in Cyprus. Later Paul and Barnabas quarrelled and separated; Barnabas returned to Cyprus and evangelized it. According to legend, he was martyred at Salamis in 61 ad. His feast day is 11 June.
