SUNDAY PRAYER MEETINGS - please note that there is a prayer meeting at 10am to pray for the 10.15am service plus a meeting at 6pm for the evening service. These meetings take place in the Prayer Room and are open to all who wish to attend and pray for the services. CAN WE PRAY WITH YOU? After each service there are members of our church who will be happy to pray with you about anything that may be on your heart. Anyone is welcome to come and receive prayer. PRAYER BOOK (situated in the corridor between the church and hall) Please use this book for prayer needs - updating it as they progress. It is especially valuable to put requests for healing prayers. Many people make reference to the book during the week as well as on Sunday. For some in the poorer parts of the world, the gift of a shoebox is a dream come true and an answer to prayer. Boxes can also be made up to give to pensioners in need. Details on ideas to put in the boxes are in the leaflets. You may like to make up a joint box with your friends, neighbours or life group or if you don t want to fill a shoebox yourself but would like to donate some small gifts for the appeal, still take a leaflet so you know what is needed and put the items in a bag marked Shoebox Appeal. Please bring your filled shoeboxes back to All Saints Church Sunday 18 th November. We plan to hold a couple of wrapping shoebox sessions at Connect. More details to follow. After these, we ll have some wrapped empty boxes available for you to fill. Please phone Sheila Holt on if you need any further information. 3 NEW EVENING SERVICE Sunday 4th November pm at All Saints Church All Saints is going to launch a new style of evening service called ENGAGE. ENGAGE will be slightly different from our other services. Our vision for ENGAGE is to have a bit more time available for creativity, interaction, time of worship and space to meet deeply with God. ENGAGE will run once a month and for its launch on November4th we have a very special guest, the Bishop of Stockport the Rt Rev Libby Lane. ENGAGE will start at 6pm with pizza and light refreshments and will finish by 8pm. We usually like to stock up on the following items: Tea / coffee /sugar / UHT milk / tinned vegetables / tinned soups / tinned meats / tinned fish / tinned fruit / tinned rice pudding / tinned custard / pasta sauces / pasta / rice / cereals** (**not giant sized as these take up too much room in the bag) Many of you will have seen the devastating effects of the recent Tsunami in Indonesia. You may have already felt able to give to the DEC Appeal but if not here is a link you can use to give by supporting Tear Fund and its response. indonesia_tsunami_appeal/ MEALS FOR MUMS & FAMILIES We want to say a Big Thank you to Wendy Burley for overseeing this service for several years. Wendy wants to take a break and so we need someone new to take on this role. COULD THIS BE YOU? If you are interested and willing to do this role or to come onto the team who cook the meals (occasionally) then please contact Joan Brown on or When Nadine Parkinson visited recently she encouraged us to pray for Tear Fund. 4 MEN'S GROUP - ALL SAINTS CHURCH MEN S TABLE TENNIS You are cordially invited to a thrilling evening of table tennis (if you are male and aged between 16 and 110). Where: The Bowyer Hall, All Saints Church When: Monday 29th October 2018 Time: 7.30pm to 9pm Contact: Mark Lambe Tables are provided (phew!) as are bats and balls but if you have your own, you can bring them. There is no charge for this event. As part of our Sermon Series this term we are encouraging us all to engage with reading the Bible. We will be putting readings into Focus each week to highlight God s Big Story. To celebrate 100 days of prayer and all that God has been doing, we will be hosting a second... DAWN PRAYER SESSION at CONNECT on the 11th November 2018 in order to bracket the 100 Days Of Prayer with dawn prayer sessions. The event will start at 4am and at 7.30am we will share breakfast together. At 9am we will prayer walk up to church ready to finish our prayers at church for the start of the 10.15am Remembrance Day Service. It would be wonderful to join with you in prayer, so if you re able to attend, please sign on the sign up sheet in the link corridor.
