Come and rejoice that you belong to God, today and every day. Our Minister is the Reverend Glayne Worgan There are bibles available in some chair backs. If you have not got one to hand there are more available from the leaflet distributors in the welcome area. A special welcome to any visitors with us today We serve tea, coffee and soft drinks after the morning services in the small hall each week. Do stay and meet together with us.

4 Glayne s Day Off Glayne Worgan has Saturdays off. Please avoid contacting her for routine matters on that day. Prayer Meeting A reminder that we meet each Sunday morning between 9.30 and 9.40am in the choir vestry to pray for the work of God in Priory. All are welcome; please join us. Prayer Team We have now arranged for a Prayer Team for anyone wishing to share a concern or have a prayer to be available after the morning service, they can be found by the organ loft. Today - MAYC Thanksgiving It is 70 years since the launch of the good ship MAYC (Methodist Association of Youth Clubs) and one of the 3 national events is taking place here at Priory today from There will be an exhibition, films, sharing, bring & share tea and lots of memorabilia. Tea is at 4.30 and from 6.00 we will share in a service of thanksgiving as we share our journeys through 70 years. We hope you will come if you have MAYC memories. Please tell your friends who might like to come and share. Young people are welcome to share the history. Sad News We are sad to tell you that Eileen passed away on Monday 4 th May. Alan and her two children were with her. A thanksgiving Service is at Priory on Monday 18 th May at 2.30pm. No further details at the moment. Please hold Alan and the rest of the family in your prayers. Thanks I have some lovely flowers brought to me by Kathy Lewis which Carol Gammons had chosen and arranged in church on Sunday. Thank you both very much. Susan Arthern Nepal Earthquake Appeal There will be an opportunity to donate to this cause in a retiring collection on 10 th and 17 th May. The money will be sent to All we Can, the Methodist Relief and Development Organisation, which is working with partner agencies based in Nepal to bring practical and emotional support to those affected. Worship Consultation The next meeting will be on Tuesday 19 th May at 7.30pm. The consultation cover all aspects of our worship life and this is an open meeting; all are welcome. Defibrillator The sale of cakes after worship on 19 th April raised towards the cost of this machine. Thank you to all who supported PLT so generously. There is a balance of left to raise; contributions are welcome, the remainder will need to be covered by existing funds. Pentecost, 24 th May There will be a celebration of Pentecost in Bedford Park at 5pm, with a picnic from 3.30pm see separate poster for details. As a result, there will be NO evening service at Priory.
5 The Prayer Diary The Prayer Diary is published on the first Sunday of the month. Copies are available on the brochure stand in the Welcome Area for the month and also on the Prayer Board at the back of the Church. Suggestions for the Diary are welcome. Susanne Edwards Operation Orphan The 'Create & Relax' Team are supporting 'Operation Orphan' in Nepal. Knitted Blankets and clothing such as mittens and hats are required for babies and children who have become orphans in the recent earthquake tragedy. We are looking for contributions from all you knitters out there so we can send lots of support from Priory. For more information please see Hazel or Susanne. Thank you in advance. Dear Friends at Priory. After a long period of deteriorating health Brenda and Stanley Smith have had to make the difficult decision to leave their home and move to Anjulita Court, Brickhill. They would welcome any visits from friends at Priory to make this transition easier for them as they come to terms with this major upheaval in their lives. Jonathan Smith Messy Church Messy Church will be exploring the 'Parable of the Talents' on the 13th July. It would be greatly appreciated if any Priory Members would be able to donate their time or equipment, to share circus skills with the young people? Hula hoops, plate spinning and small peddlers. Plus, juggling if possible. Or any other skills you may wish to share? We meet 3.30pm - 5pm. If you are able to help in any way please contact Lorraine Kalyan, Lorraine.kalyan@sky.com or Messy thanks in advance. The young people are also in need of some more games. The Downfall game is particularly sought at this time. If anyone has any games they would like to donate they would be greatly appreciated. Lorraine Kalyan The Ossett Papers There was a leaflet by The Ossett Papers entitled Dancing round the crocodile put in Glayne s pigeon hole, can who ever put it in there speak to Glayne please. Missing Has anyone borrowed the knitted Nativity figures? They went missing 3 weeks ago, all that was left was the box they were in. Please contact Hazel. Prayer Services at Holy Cross We are continuing with a brief prayer service each evening which started last Friday 15 May until Friday 22 May at Holy Cross. It will be a preparation for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and will be held at 7.00pm each evening. Each service will consist of a hymn, prayers. Scripture Reading and reflection and should last for about minutes - with some time for silent prayer also. Jonathan Hill

Open to the public Monday to Saturdays May 5 th 24 th 10.00am 2.00pm. Free entry, donations welcome. Who is Scruffy Bird? She is the creation of local artist.t.a. Harvey and has been seeing the world from her own perspective since Sometimes quirky, sometimes thought-provoking but always open-minded (and scruffy), she has a character all her own. Pastoral Cards Our Pastoral cards have all been checked and updated. We also have some new ones added to our selection. If you know of anybody who would appreciate a card with a message or if you would prefer a card that you can write your own message, then please look in the boxes which are in the steward s vestry. Envelopes have also been added. We have a good selection of Pastoral cards for various occasions so please use them. Kathy Lewis, Pastoral Co-ordinator "Send a Cow to Africa" "Send a Cow to Africa" is an organisation that provides direct, practical help to poor farmers and families in Africa - currently working in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Zambia and Lesotho. The aim is to help the people to help themselves. By providing cows and other live stock including fish, goats, bees, pigs and chickens, seeds and tools plus training in livestock rearing and organic farming to get families started and eventually self-sufficient. They also provide low cost veterinary advice and service. We can help by donating our used ink cartridges. You will find a box on the table in the vestibule under pigeon holes for people to place their used ink cartridges. For every ink cartridge I send back 2 will be donate to "Send a Cow" funds. 7 Posters On The Board In The Welcome Area - Updated weekly. Don t forget to take a look at the posters with all the details of events happening at Priory, within the circuit churches and in Bedford - see if any take your interest. Pastoral CD Copies of Church Services CD copies are available of various Priory Services and other functions by filling in the PINK slip called Request for Pastoral CD Copy. These slips can be found on the table at the front of the Church. CD copies are available FREE to Priory Church members. However a small donation would be gratefully accepted and should be put directly in the offertory plate. If more than one copy is required then see Steve Gordon directly. Unfortunately taped copies cannot be provided. Special functions like Weddings etc. can be catered for but will require timely notice and must be directed to the Minister.
