Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God for me and help me. Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

Family Liturgy On Sunday, November 5 th, Monsignor will be conducting Family Liturgy during the 9 am Mass with Mrs. D Angelo s and Mrs. Strehl s 5 th grade class. Come and experience the Gospel acted by our students! You can also enjoy the Pancake Breakfast following Mass, hosted by the +TLC+ group! 7 th and 8 th Grade Students Our trip to New England: Shrine of the Divine Mercy, Shaker Museum, First Congregational Church, is on Tuesday, November 7 th. Upcoming +TLC + events: Sunday, November 5 th - Pancake Breakfast Friday, November 10 th - Veterans Day +TLC+ bike ride Sunday, November 12 th - General Meeting Sunday, November 19 th - General Meeting Saturday, November 25 th -Service Proj., VERTERAN'S DAY BIKE TRIP-FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10 TH Open to all Parishioners and Families For the past two years, we have had a bike trip on Veterans' Day, open to +TLC+ teens and everyone in the parish. We begin at 10 am at Daddy O's (so people can attend the 9 am Mass) and travel on the Rail Trail to the other side of the Bridge-Walk Way over the Hudson. This is 15 miles, and we stop at the mile posts dedicated to the Veterans and say a decade of the Rosary. We reach the other side around Noon and have a bag lunch in the parking lot there, and then return, for a total of 30 miles round trip. Not everyone can complete the 30 miles, but everyone is invited to do as much as they want. Some families join us at Gold's Gym-17 miles round trip, others at Morgan Lake-9 miles round trip, and some just do the bridge-3.5 miles round trip. We all try to meet at the other side of the bridge at Noon, and say a short prayer for our veterans before lunch. This is an excellent way to remember our Veterans, and have fun with others in our parish. The Pastor promises to go slow so some teens can keep up.

This week the pantry needs: canned potatoes, salt and pepper, chicken/beef broth, and deodorant. The next meeting is Wednesday, November 8 th at 7 pm, Rm 11, St. Denis-St. Columba School St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry Thanksgiving Baskets As we prepare to give thanks to the Lord at Thanksgiving, please consider helping provide a holiday meal basket for those in need. A basket can be prepared alone or with a group, and should include the following items: turkey or ham, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, fresh vegetables, salad mix & dressing, rolls, butter, milk, eggs, fresh fruit, dessert, coffee, tea, cold beverages and a foil pan. We also accept loose items. DROP OFF FOR BASKETS IS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19 th BETWEEN 10 am- 12 NOON AT ST. COLUMBA CHURCH. Baskets are blessed at 1 pm and disbursement will follow. Operation Christmas Child partners with churches worldwide to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After receiving shoebox gifts, many children are catechized through a Bible study course, The Greatest Journey, where they learn to become faithful followers of Christ and share their faith with others. The outreach program has reached more than 100 million children living in poverty and war. St. Kateri has touched the lives of more than 670 children by packing shoeboxes and will influence more this year. Information on how to complete a shoebox and receive a printable label can be found at Samaritanspurse.org. Labels and shoeboxes are available at the Faith Formation building. Visit CYFM.org or call WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA On November 18 th & 19 th, before & after all Masses, Cadets and Officers from the Dutchess County Civil Air Patrol Squadron NY-159 will sell wreath sponsorships for the Wreaths Across America campaign to honor our Veterans. Each wreath sponsorship is $15. The wreaths are made of real evergreens with a red bow. The Civil Air Cadets will lay each wreath on the grave of a Veteran at St. Denis Cemetery during the Wreaths Across America ceremony on December 16 th at 10 am. All are invited to attend, especially those who have a beloved Veteran buried at St. Denis. Forms are available at the exits of the church. You can give it to one of the cadets the weekend of November 18/19 or place it in the collection basket in an envelope marked Wreaths Across America and we will give it to them. The last date for sponsorships is Monday, November 27 th.
