Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

Instead, members are encouraged to attend an Evening with Cardinal Dolan for college students and young adults, Thursday, November 2 nd at 5 pm at the Culinary Institute. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS Classes are NOT in session on Tuesday, October 31 st. All Saints Day Mass, Wednesday, November 1 st All grades in the 4:30 session will be attending the 5:15 Mass with their class. You must fill out and return the form that was given out in class, which is also located in the Narthex, and attend a Part I, Part II, and a Part III training session in the Church. They are as follows: Part II - Wednesday, November 1 st, 4-5 pm or Thursday, November 2 nd, 4-5 pm Part III - Monday, November 6 th, 5:30-6:30 pm or Thursday, November 9 th, 4-5 pm VERTERAN'S DAY BIKE TRIP Friday November 10 th, Open to all Parishioners and Families For the past two years, we have had a bike trip on Veterans' Day, open to +TLC+ teens and everyone in the parish. We begin at 10 am at Daddy O's (so people can attend the 9 am Mass) and travel on the Rail Trail to the other side of the Bridge-Walk Way over the Hudson. This is 15 miles, and we stop at the mile posts dedicated to the Veterans and say a decade of the Rosary. We reach the other side around Noon and have a bag lunch in the parking lot there, and then return, for a total of 30 miles round trip. Not everyone can complete the 30 miles, but everyone is invited to do as much as they want. Some families join us at Gold's Gym-17 miles round trip, others at Morgan Lake-9 miles round trip, and some just do the bridge-3.5 miles round trip. We all try to meet at the other side of the bridge at Noon, and say a short prayer for our veterans before lunch. This is an excellent way to remember our Veterans, and have fun with others in our parish. The Pastor promises to go slow so some teens can keep up.

This week the pantry needs: laundry detergent, salt and pepper, juice (no glass bottles) and deodorant. The next meeting is Wednesday, November 8 th at 7 pm, Rm 11, St. Denis-St. Columba School St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry Thanksgiving Baskets As we prepare to give thanks to the Lord at Thanksgiving, please consider helping provide a holiday meal basket for those in need. A basket can be prepared alone or with a group, and should include the following items: turkey or ham, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, fresh vegetables, salad mix & dressing, rolls, butter, milk, eggs, fresh fruit, dessert, coffee, tea, cold beverages and a foil pan. We also accept loose items. DROP OFF FOR BAS- KETS IS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19 th BETWEEN 10 am-12 NOON AT ST. COLUMBA CHURCH. Baskets are blessed at 1 pm and disbursement will follow. Our purpose is to bring hope and healing to those who have gone through divorce years ago, and to those currently going through separation or divorce. While this is a Catholic, Godcentered endeavor, all faiths are welcomed. Meetings are on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays.
