I admire the virtues which adorned your soul: love of God and neighbor, humility, obedience, patience, purity and the spirit of sacrifice. Help me to imitate your example in my state of life. Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God for me and help me. Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

3 PASTOR S NOTE I want to express my gratitude to everybody who made our Christmas season such a special time. Fr. Michael, our deacons and staff all put in many hours to make our celebration prayerful and rewarding. All those involved in the liturgical ministries: the great Saint Kateri Music Ministry, our Servers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Ushers and Sacristans all put in countless hours to make our liturgies truly beautiful. Special thanks to all those who so wonderfully decorated our church and to others who helped in numerous ways. I also want to say thank you to all our parishioners who so generously donated to the Christmas collection. Finally, on behalf of Fr. Michael and myself, I want to thank all those who sent cards and gifts to the rectory. The amount of delicious homemade food was overwhelming! We will have to spend many hours working them off. William J. Reilly The Epiphany of the Lord January 8, 2017 I am sure you have heard of the ministry God in his goodness gave me in your regard. God s secret plan, as I have briefly described it, was revealed to me, unknown to men in former ages but now revealed by the Spirit to the holy apostles and prophets. It is no less than this: in Christ Jesus the Gentiles are co-heirs with the Jews, members of the same body, and sharers in the promise through the preaching of the gospel. While we recall the visit of the Magi, detailing facts of a star, gifts and a hateful king, the real meaning for us is given by St. Paul. We learn three things today, we are: 1) co heirs, 2) members, 3) sharers. An heir receives a benefit, members gain the status of belonging and sharers enjoy a common life. This details who and what we are as missionary disciples. It was not always so. The visitors from the orient represent all who believe and follow today. Jesus is the Savior of the world, of Christians, Jews, Muslims, all humankind. With reverence they brought gifts, symbolic yet real. We bring the gift of self, offering our gratitude for His coming, our desire to follow Him more closely. Like the Magi, we go to our streets and neighborhood, our barrio and homes, willing to bring our experience of Christ s presence to others. Did you discover the Christ this Christmas? Be the star to reveal Him to others. Therefore, the parish secretary is expected to and must exercise confidentiality in all dealings involving the parish.); Must have at least a high school diploma. Three to five years prior related experience is desirable. This position is temporary with the possibility of becoming regular. If interested, please prepare a resume, and contact Fr. Ronald Perez directly at 231 Church Street, Poughkeepsie, NY or at THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD First Reading: Isaiah 60:1-6 Jerusalem is extolled as a place of glory and splendor because the Lord has come to His own city. Second Reading: Ephesians 3:2-3a, 5-6 Paul tells the Ephesians that his special mission is to make the Gentiles co-heirs with the Jews in Christ members of the same body and sharers of the promise. Gospel: Matthew 2:1-12 Herod learns that Wise Men from the East are searching for the newly born Christ Child. He instructs them to find the Child and to report His whereabouts to him. The Wise Men follow a star to the place where Mary and Jesus are and offer the Child gold, frankincense, and myrrh. They do not return to Herod but follow another route to their own country Bon Venture Services, Inc.
