Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God for me and help me. Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

3 "PRESENCE" OF JESUS IN THE EUCHARIST We are hosting a three evening program on the Eucharist that the Archdiocese has asked some parishes to host. It is an extremely well done series showing the Biblical roots of the Eucharist and how it has been explained by the Church over the past 2000 years. It truly shows how our God, in His Great love for us, wants to be present to us in the Eucharist. I urge everyone to try and attend this. It will be shown in the on Wednesday, May 23 rd, June 6 th, and June 13 th, from 7-8:30 pm. ANTHONY CIRONE WILL BE ORDAINED A DEACON Please pray for our parishioner Anthony Cirone, about to be ordained a Deacon on Saturday, June 23 th at St. Patrick s Cathedral. All are invited to attend this important event. There will be a bus departing at 6 am for those planning to attend, returning immediately after the ordination. Bus tickets are available for $20 on a first come, first serve basis. Call the Parish Office at A Special Mass honoring Deacon Anthony Cirone will be celebrated on Sunday, June 24 th at 10:30 am here at Saint Kateri. After the Mass, there will be a parish reception to wish Deacon Anthony Cirone well. All parishioners are welcomed to attend this Mass and the reception to follow, as we offer thanksgiving to our Lord for Deacon Cirone and his new ministry. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS The last week of Faith Formation classes are this week, May 14 th May 17 th. Re-Registration We would like to wrap up registration before the end of classes, May 17 th. June 7th - Meeting at Antioch: Group Discussion reflecting on Talks and Laying the Groundwork for a Men s Group at St. Kateri. The reasons why these talks are geared to the men in the parish are the following: To help them grow in their relationship with Our Lord and their Catholic Faith. Refreshments will be available starting at 9:30am in the. On Tuesday, May 15th, we'll take a bus trip to the Fairfield University Art Museum to see Art of the Gesu: Bernini and His Age. We'll depart from the St. Kateri parking lot at 10am and return around 4:30pm. Cost of the bus is $30, but museum is free! We'll stop for lunch on the way home. Our free Senior Stretch Class continues this week on Wednesday, May 16th, 9:45-10:30am in the Church Meeting Room. New seniors always welcome! TRI PARISH RESPECT LIFE ADORATION NEWS Please join us in praying the Novena to Our Lady of Knock for the Unborn of Ireland. On May 25th, the Irish people will vote either yes or no to uphold the 8 th Amendment which prohibits abortion from conception. This novena begins on May 16th. Let s keep Ireland pro-life. Father James will lead the ninth novena prayer at 8 pm following with the Rosary and ending in Benediction on May 24th in the Oratory Of Our Lady, Cause of Our Joy Adoration Chapel at St Columba. Please arrive at 7:45 pm for silent preparation. ALTAR ROSARY SOCIETY Join and meet the ARS ladies at our next meeting on Monday, May 14th, at St. Kateri. We begin with the Rosary at 6:30 pm. 5 PASTOR'S NOTE "RELAY FOR LIFE" SATURDAY, JUNE 9TH We are proud once again to be sponsoring a team for the Relay For Life at Arlington High School. We have had great success in raising money for this very worthy cause. This is our fifth year, and everyone who has participated in this event has truly enjoyed the experience. All of us have been affected by cancer, and Relay for Life is a way to express our concern. Date: Saturday, June 9 th at the Arlington High School Track from Noon-10 pm. Special events: Opening Ceremony at Noon, followed by the Survivors Lap around the track. We encourage any survivors or those dealing with cancer to walk this lap. The day ends at 9 pm with a very dramatic walk around the track lighted with LUMINARIA dedicated to loved ones or friends who have died from cancer. If you have never experienced this, attend at least this portion. During the day, people can walk or run around the track, share some of the food at the St. Kateri tents, or participate in any of the events going on in the field. How can you participate? Join a team to walk around the track or sponsor a team member (each team member must receive $100 in sponsorship, but we as a parish will hopefully sponsor anybody willing to participate). Purple waterproof bows will be available for sale at all Masses beginning on the weekend of May 20 th. Show your support by affixing bows to mailboxes, fences, posts, bushes, autos, etc. throughout local events. Dedication "hearts" are given with purchase of bow to be placed in basket in the sanctuary for us to pray for the names mentioned. Large purple bows are $5. Also available will be T-shirts commemorating the event at $20 each; and luminaries, one for $10 and three for $25 for use at the event, remembering our cancer victims. MARRIAGE ENRICHMENT MINISTRY We are married and engaged couples who come together to learn, share and encourage each other as we live this sacrament. GOLDEN AND SILVER WEDDING MASS CELEBRATIONS Couples celebrating their 50 th Wedding Anniversary during 2018 are invited to attend the Golden Wedding Jubilee Mass with Cardinal Dolan at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Sunday, June 3 rd, at 2:15 pm. MEMORIAL STONE ENGRAVINGS We are providing opportunities to purchase memorial stones for the four Eagle Scout projects on our property. Forms are available to sign up for these memorials in the narthex and the Parish Office: the Flag Pole area for the armed service men and women, the Jesus and the Children area for children and young people, the Gazebo and the Rosary Garden for general memorials. These are available for both living and deceased. The cost of the memorials is $150. CONSIDER SERVING ON ST KATERI PARISH COUNCIL Any parishioner 16 or older is invited to consider nominating himself or herself, or someone he or she admires, to serve on our Parish Council. The adult (18 or older) term is three years and the teen term is one year. On Sunday, June 10 th at the 10:30 Mass, the names of those willing to serve will be placed in a bowl, and names will be selected at random. Our prayer is that all nominees are ready and able to serve, and that the Lord will choose whom He wants for this ministry. Nominations must be received by June 4 th. Please mail this form to the church or drop it off at the Parish Office no later than Monday, June 4 th. I understand that serving on the Saint Kateri Parish Council is an important ministry, to be done for the glory of God and the advancement of His Church.
