Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God for me and help me. Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

KATERI'S KIDS VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL KATERI'S KIDS Vacation Bible School will be held June 27- July 1, from 9 am-12 noon, for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. For info, call Judy Horton, RCIA (RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS) Non-Catholic adults interested in learning about our Catholic faith and Catholic adults who need the sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation or Eucharist) are welcome to attend our free sessions. They take place on Thursday evenings, 7-9 pm, beginning immediately prior to Labor Day and culminating at the Easter Vigil, April 5 th, Because this coming Easter is early, please sign up before classes begin. People have been signing up after classes have started. Call the Parish Office for information and to register. RCIA FOR TEENS We have had an increasing number of high school students coming to us to learn about our faith who have no, or limited, prior religious education. We will be conducting a two year program to give ninth, tenth or eleventh graders a background in the faith and the opportunity to receive sacraments they may have missed. KATERI LEISURE CLUB June activities include the following: Wednesday, June 15 th : A busy day-long bus trip to lower Manhattan in NYC to 1. take a guided tour through the Holy Doors at Most Precious Blood church, 2. informally tour Old St. Patrick's Basilica nearby (time permitting), 3. lunch at noon in Little Italy and 4. take the 1 hour Sweatshop Tour at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. 4 PASTOR'S NOTE "RELAY FOR LIFE" SATURDAY, JUNE 18 TH We are proud once again to be sponsoring a team for the Relay For Life at Arlington High School. We have had great success in raising money for this very worthy cause. Last year we were awarded with the Top Fundraising Award! This is our third year, and everyone who has participated in this event has truly enjoyed the experience and can't wait to be a part of it again. We are excited that this fun-filled day is just around the corner. All of us have been affected by cancer, and Relay for Life is a way to express our concern. Date: Saturday, June 18 th, at the Arlington High School Track from 10 am-10 pm. Special events: Opening Ceremony at 10 am, followed by the Survivors Lap around the track. We encourage any survivors or those dealing with cancer to walk this lap. The day ends at 9 pm with a very dramatic walk around the track lighted with LUMINARIA dedicated to loved ones or friends who have died from cancer. If you have never experienced this, attend at least this portion. During the day, people can walk or run around the track, share some of the food at the St. Kateri tents, or participate in any of the events going on in the field. In the past, a great highlight was seeing the present and former Faith Formation Directors pair up for a 3-legged race, and some people even paid money to hit the Pastor with a whipped cream pie. How can you participate? Join a team to walk around the track or sponsor a team member (each team member must receive $100 in sponsorship, but we as a parish will hopefully sponsor anybody willing to participate). Purple waterproof bows will be available for sale at all Masses beginning on the May 29 th weekend. Show your support by affixing bows to mailboxes, fences, posts, bushes, autos, etc. throughout local events. Dedication "hearts" are given with purchase of bow to be placed in basket in the sanctuary for us to pray for the names mentioned. Large purple bows are $5. Also available will be T-shirts commemorating the event at $20 each; and luminaries, one for $10 and three for $25 for use at the event, remembering our cancer victims. Call Dusty Maiolo at SUMMER JOY BIBLE SCHOOL The Joy Program, open to all children ages 4-9 years old, is a fun filled summer program consisting of Bible instruction, arts and crafts, recreation a mid-morning snack. The program is conducted by Deacon John Reilly, assisted by parish volunteer. The program is Monday, July11 th -Friday, July15 th, from 9 am- 12 Noon at St. Denis-St. Columba School. The cost is $20 per child, T-shirts are $8 for youth and $10 for adult. Forms are available at stcolumbaonline.org BLOOD DRIVE For our blood drive June 1 st, we had 59 people sign in and we collected 52 units of blood. Thank you to all the donors and the following volunteers who gave of their time and greatly supported our blood drive. The issue highlights Catholic Extension's strong focus on the support for youth, young adult and campus ministry through out the country. These stories of faith range from a vibrant campus ministry in Florida to an inspiring after-school program for at-risk youth in Puerto Rico, from engaging young Latino Catholic in Louisiana to evangelizing with social media in Texas. Pick up a free copy of Extension magazine in the Narthex. ST. KATERI BIBLE STUDY The St. Kateri Bible Study meets every Thursday, 7-9 pm, in the Faith Formation Building. We are celebrating the Year of Mercy by studying scripture and its impact on Pope Francis' writings on the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. All are welcome. For info, call Julie

5 MEETING SPACE CALENDAR Due to the many groups and organizations that have been formed in the parish, we recognize the need for having an organized policy for booking the Church, Chapel, Church Meeting Room, and the meeting rooms/classrooms in the Faith Formation Building. Priority has to be given to sacramental and liturgical events and the needs of our Faith Formation program. We will have completed the calendar for these events by June 15 th of every year. Other groups and organizations who want to book space should submit their requests, in writing, to the Parish Office by the June 29 th but not before June 15 th. Please specify the date needed, time needed and the number of people expected; be sure to include an address or phone number. You will be contacted only if your request cannot be fulfilled. Use of the Church Meeting Room will require the pastor's approval. The form to request use of the meeting room is on our parish website and it is also available at the Parish Office. Meeting room procedures have been prepared and are posted in the meeting room and on the parish website. The booking calendar will be based on a school year: September 1 st to June 30 th. These requests will then be fulfilled in the order they were submitted. The Faith Formation classrooms all accommodate people. Coffee machines are available to those groups who wish to offer it, but the group is responsible for supplying the items needed, the set-up and the clean-up. Since there is a significant demand for the Church Meeting Room, we are asking that groups of 20 or less book the rooms in the Faith Formation building. Groups over 20 can request the Church Meeting Room. Please indicate if you also need to use the Kitchen. Each group is responsible for their own supplies, set-up and clean-up. Because of the increasing demand of that room by parish groups, any consideration for private groups or non-parish groups will be limited. OUR LADY OF LOURDES HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME GOLF CLASSIC The OLL School Athletic Hall of Fame Golf Classic is Thursday, June 16 th at The McCann Memorial Golf Course/Christos Catering in Poughkeepsie. $150 per golfer includes 18 holes of golf, buffet lunch, cocktail reception, and dinner. ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME First Reading: 2 Samuel 12:7-10, 13 Because God was displeased with the actions of David concerning Uriah's death in order to marry Bathsheba, God sent Nathan to reprimand David. Nathan reminds David that God anointed him King of Israel and victor over Saul. David realizes his sin against God, but Nathan continues to reveal to David that the child to be born to him shall die. Second Reading: Galatians 2:16, Paul writes of the struggles between Gentiles and Jews who both now profess belief in Christ Jesus. Paul proclaims his life in Christ, working towards unity and faith in the Son of God. Gospel: Luke 7:36 8:3 While Jesus was dining at the home of a Pharisee, a woman of the city who was a sinner, came and anointed his feet with oil. Weeping, her tears fell upon Jesus' feet and she dried them with her hair. Because of the woman's respect and love, Jesus forgives her sins. Reilly Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time June 12, 2016 I anointed you king of Israel. I rescued you from the hand of Saul, I gave you the Lord s house and if this were not enough, I could count up for you still more. Why have you spurned the Lord and done evil in his sight?...i have been crucified with Christ, yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me. We are accustomed to making lists. There is the list of things to do, shopping lists, priorities, Christmas lists, itineraries. They always seem to help us be organized, save energy, and accomplish good. There are also lists of what to avoid, as foods, flowers, medicines. The book of Samuel finds Nathan speaking for the Lord. The list of anointing, rescuing, and the gift of his house. David should have been appreciative. The prophet then said I could go on and on but I won t, but want you to think about all the gifts and from whom they come. The Lord can address us in the same way. Who I am, what I have, and where I m headed is all gift. I have life, the life of grace, all because of a generous God. My family, work, studies, joy and happiness. All are gifts. With the psalmist I ask myself, after compiling my list what return shall I make to the Lord for all he has done for me?
