I admire the virtues which adorned your soul: love of God and neighbor, humility, obedience, patience, purity and the spirit of sacrifice. Help me to imitate your example in my state of life. Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God for me and help me. Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

3 Lenten Message It is hard to believe, but this Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of our Lenten season. This is the earliest that Lent and Easter can be, and with the lack of snow, it seems hard to believe Lent is already here. These 40 days of Lent are a time to renew ourselves spiritually with the traditional practices of more intense prayer, fasting as a sign of sacrifice- not just to lose weight, although that might be a good side-effect, and almsgiving- care for the poor. This is also a Year of Divine Mercy, so we are called to reflect on the immense mercy God grants us through the death of His Son on the cross for us. Pope Francis has also called all Catholics to be instruments of God s Mercy in our willingness to forgive others- especially those closest to us. Let us pray for the strength to do just that, without expecting anything in return. I also encourage participation in the Lenten practices we offer in the parish. Getting to the Sacrament of Reconciliation to experience God s Mercy first-hand on Saturday afternoon, Wednesday after Mass, and Monday evenings- during which the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for Adoration. We will continue the now famous Knights Fish Fry on Friday evenings followed by a short Spiritual Reflection and the Stations of the Cross. Let us all do something to draw closer to Christ so we experience the rewards of His Mercy followed by a Glorious Easter.
