I admire the virtues which adorned your soul: love of God and neighbor, humility, obedience, patience, purity and the spirit of sacrifice. Help me to imitate your example in my state of life. Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God for me and help me. Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

3 TO THE SAINT KATERI TEKAKWITHA PARISH FAMILY As I end my time here as your pastor I want to express my over-whelming gratitude to each and every one of you. You have been a great example to me in your dedication to your faith. Your Love for Jesus put into action by your service to all, especially those most in need has been truly praise-worthy. The love for family and the desire to have our young people experience God s love for them is at the center of our parish life. Thank You. I often say that we have a magnificent church, but far more important than the physical building is the people who make up that church, our parish. You are more magnificent than the building. The start of so many ministries and forms of service is an indication of just how magnificent you are. Thanks to all with special roles of service and to all who volunteer in so many ways. I am honored to have been with you at such an important and formative time in this parish s history. I can say this is the most important period of my priesthood. Thank You!!!! You know I love you all, but I do have a special place in my heart for all our young people. You live in a challenging time. Realize you are made in the image and likeness of God, who loves you deeply and has a wonderful plan for each one of you. You will be most fulfilled in life if you follow it. Know He is always desiring to forgive you if you mess up; so great is His love for you. You are the future of our parish, and of our faith. Please stay strong in that faith, and pray for vocations. There is no way I can say THANK YOU enough for all you mean to me. Obviously, I will miss you and leaving is like losing a loved one. But I know that Christ s love will always unite us, and we are together in the sharing of the Eucharist. Be assured of my prayers always! I also ask God s prayers on Fr. Pancrose Kalist as your new pastor. May he guide you as our 16 year old parish grows into young adulthood. ST. KATERI MEN'S GROUP Please look for announcements about the men's group starting at St. Kateri in the coming weeks ahead: in the parish bulletin, on the parish website, and on Flock notes. Call Julie, ADULT FAITH FORMATION A new workshop will be offered this September for Adult Faith Formation: Catholic Apologetics - How To Explain The Faith To Others. This 4 week workshop will introduce basic ways to speak with two groups: atheists/agnostics and Protestants. Once people know you are a Catholic, don't they seem to ask you a lot of questions? Other people have no shortage of opinions to share with you (some of which might not be grounded in fact). Atheists delight in attacking Bible Fundamentalists, and we Catholics are often caught in the middle. This 4 week workshop will introduce some basic ways to speak with two groups atheists/agnostics (why do you believe in God?) and Protestants (why are you Catholic?). It will be split between presentation and small group discussion. Detailed handouts will be provided with references to additional practical and useful material.
