I admire the virtues which adorned your soul: love of God and neighbor, humility, obedience, patience, purity and the spirit of sacrifice. Help me to imitate your example in my state of life. Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God for me and help me. Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

FROM THE PASTOR S DESK Concerning Annulments All Pastors received a letter from Cardinal Dolan this week concerning Annulments in the Archdiocese of New York in light of the Holy Father s Apostolic Letter on September 8 th. As of December 8 th, there will be no cost to the individual requesting an annulment. The Archdiocese will absorb the total fees involved. The process will be simplified, but the Cardinal notes that the 45 days to get an annulment that the press reported is misleading, it only refers to one stage of the process. In fact he points out, that time frame might not be greatly different from the current process in New York. Many of the details of the new process still have to be worked out in the coming weeks, so I would encourage anybody considering an annulment to make an appointment after the holidays. ALTAR ROSARY SOCIETY Our next event is our Annual Christmas Dinner at the Beekman Country Clubhouse on Monday, December 7 th at 6 pm. Tickets are $39 each. All are welcome. Call Betty Perrino at for information. Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your motherly protection. Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people. Open our minds to the great worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God's law is the foundation on which this nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. O Merciful Mother, give us the courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to guild a new Culture of Life. Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes Girls and boys in more than 150 countries who live in poverty and war will experience the joy of Christmas from the gift of a shoebox filled with needed supplies, presents and a bible study. For more information visit Samaritanspurse.org. Please contact Allyson Kotes, or AllysonLPGA@optonline.net, to join the shoebox team of volunteers. ST.
