7 October 1, Twenty-sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Page Seven AROUND THE PARISH, DIOCESE & BEYOND Our school year has gotten off to a great start. Classrooms are buzzing and our ST. MARY students are falling into their routines and activities. The flexible seating purchased through funds raised by our Home School Association (HSA) is getting rave reviews SCHOOL NEWS from students. They also are enjoying the additional technology we ve gained this year, including adding grades 1 and 3 to our 1:1 ipad program and providing ipads for our middle school math classes. None of this would be accomplished without the generosity of our St. Mary School community. Last week the HSA kicked off their Annual Fund Campaign, which runs through October 13. Tuition alone doesn't cover the cost of educating a child. The HSA raises funds that go directly back to the school to cover operating costs to help keep tuition fees low. Funds also support community building activities and continuing education for our teachers to help them further develop the whole child in faith, academics and service. Every family counts. Every dollar counts. Our goal is 100 percent of SMS families donating any amount they can to the Annual Fund. You don t have to be a school family to donate. You can donate through your Faith Direct account. Choose one-time gift now and select SMS Annual Fund at Or, drop off your donation at the main school office, marked "St. Mary Business Office." Make your check payable to "St. Mary HSA." If your employer offers corporate matching, let us know and we can send you a duplicate receipt. Questions? Contact: annualfund@smsva.org.
