From Father Kirby Happy Sunday, Team Grace! And a Happy Advent. Today we begin the four-sunday long preparation for the celebration of Our Lord s Nativity. During this Advent season, we are observing a couple of additional devotions in our parish. On Tuesdays after (around 12:30 PM), we ll process to the columbarium and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. All are welcome to join us! On Wednesdays, we ll have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 12:30 3:30 PM. All are welcome. If you re able, please formally sign up for an hour of prayer so that we know that we have coverage. Sign-ups are in the narthex. Adoration will conclude with Benediction at 3:30 PM. This coming Wednesday, I look forward to visiting our Children s Faith Formation program. It s always a joy to see the great things that the children are learning about our faith. Rumors are that Saint Nick, and a sidekick elf, will be bringing candy to the children! Let s see what happens! This Saturday (December 8) is the Immaculate Conception of Mary. It s the festive beginning of our redemption in Jesus Christ. It s so high a feast that it carries the weight of a Holy Day of Obligation. And so, yes!, this weekend, we are all privileged (and obliged) to attend TWO es! You will see the holy day schedule in this bulletin. We are called to observe this holy day and Sunday! Oh, yes! It s great to be Catholic!! Next Sunday, I have the opportunity to share my new book with the parish. Entitled, God s Search for Us: Five Truths from a Missing Coin, the book addresses the core Western belief: God is One and he is searching for us long before we decide to search for him. The book develops this theme in light of the Lord s parable of the missing coin. The book will be sold after all the es next weekend and at 12:30 PM next Sunday, we ll have a book presentation and light reception. All are welcome! Thank you to all those who expressed an interest in our new Human Resources position. I m happy to announce that Jessica Pirrung has been hired to fill the position. Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with her to the position. She and her family live locally and are active parishioners at Our Lady of Grace. Welcome, Jessica!
