He takes away the sin, the sin of the world. *Call to Worship God is gracious and righteous, our protector and savior. God has dealt bountifully with us, and our souls can return to rest. Holden Evening Prayer was written by Marty Haugen (b 1960) while he was musician-in-residence at Holden Village in Holden Village is a year-round Lutheran Christian Center in the North Cascade Mountains of Washington, and is the largest retreat center in the nation. His lovely setting of vespers follows the traditional form while using contemporary and inclusive language. 7
