6 The Nominating Committee The Nominating Committee is seeking new members for the Children's and Kitchen Committees for terms to start October 1, The Children's Committee works closely with the Sunday School Leadership and Church Staff in planning events and overseeing children's ministry. The Kitchen committee is responsible for formulating policies of the kitchen and for communicating these policies to the church members, as well as helping to plan and oversee church fellowship dinners and social events. If you are interested in joining either of these committees, or would like more information, please contact any member of the Nominating committee: Debbie Nelson, Debbie Young, Dinah Thompson or Regina Moore. Deacon nominations for The following have been nominated for Deacon to begin October 2017: Marvin Gray, Dee Thompson, and John Burke. Dear Friends, Linda and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for voting last Sunday to call me as your Senior Pastor. It is a great honor to serve God as pastor of one of His churches, and I will give my very best efforts to serve you and to honor Him. Through December I will continue to preach an average of three Sundays per month and to begin participating in Wednesday night activities as well. I will not typically be available during weekdays, but Ruth Anne will continue her outstanding service as will our deacons. On January 1, I will begin serving full-time at Haymarket. Linda and I will begin preparations to sell our house in Falls Church and, once that is done, begin looking to purchase a home in the greater Haymarket area. We are excited to join such a loving congregation and continue to build on the strong foundation prepared by leaders such as Charles Stewart and Dallas Stallings, as well as the many strong lay leaders, both men and women.
