2 TRIUMPH OF THE CROSS PARISH COMMUNITY NEWS ON-LINE GIVING OF PARISH CONTRIBUTIONS: As you know from the bulletin insert last week we have invited those members of the parish that prefer to make their financial support of the parish through an electronic format to do so. Go to the Green Button on the parish web-site and follow the steps. Those who will be doing this, at this time you will continue to receive an envelope packet. There are some items in these packets that are not online. We are still working on getting the pieces of the puzzle together. Remember if anyone would like to volunteer to be part of our parish technology team please inform Fr. Nau. We have more advancements that we want to put into place. SAMARITAN HOUSE: Please consider donating these foods for those in great need: cereal, vegetables, peanut butter, chili, tuna, pork n' beans, fruit, macaroni and cheese, crackers, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, ravioli, and soup. Frozen meats are also needed: hot dogs, ground turkey, and bologna. Volunteers needed for Tues, Thurs, Friday. Tickets are once again $20.00 and each family is asked to sell ten. SUMMER WORK: Apostolate for Family Consecration in Bloomingdale is accepting applications through January 2017 for summer programming for Service Corps (Age 16-18) and Alumni Corps (Age 18-25). Volunteers serve families with a missionary spirit by assisting with the Holy Family Fests, week-long family vacations. 4 PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The St. John Neumann Council will be hosting a pancake breakfast at the St. Peter Church hall for Post 1970 of the Catholic War Veterans (CWV) on Sunday, February 12th from 9 am to 1:30 pm after the Church Masses. We serve pancakes, eggs, ham, potatoes, fruit and beverages. Donations are $7 for adults, $5 for children and $35 for family max. One of the works of the CWV is to provide free bibles to Armed Forces. The special edition of the New American bible includes Catholic prayers and Mass readings. FREE THROW: The St. John Neumann Council will be hosting our annual Free Throw Competition for boys and girls ages 9 to 14 on Saturday, February 4th at 11 am at the Bishop Mussio school gym near Triumph of the Cross parish. All children are welcomed to compete. Winners may advance to regional and state competitions.
