This will take place at Holy Family Church. Immediately after the children have an opportunity, all others are invited to participate in the Sacrament with the many priests that will be present. Sunday, March 10, :30 PM Rite of Election and Recognition of Candidates St. Agnes Church in Mingo Junction HOLY HOUR FOR VOCATIONS This will take place on Thursday, March 7 th immediately following the 8:30 a.m. Mass. All are invited to spend time praying for the preservation of current vocations and to ask the Lord to send new vocations. CONFESSIONS ARE CANCELLED AT HOLY ROSARY CHURCH ON SATURDAY, MARCH 9TH. However you are invited to come to Holy Family Church at about 10:30 that day. The children and their families celebrating First Reconciliation should be nearing the end of their time. All priests will remain available for confessions until such time as they are completed. BLESSING OF ENGAGED COUPLES At Holy Rosary Church 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 th we will celebrate the blessing of engaged couples. This will conclude the Pre-Cana Day that is being offered in our parish. The families and friends of all are invited to participate. SPRING FORWARD Remember to set your clocks forward by one hour at 2:00 AM on Sunday March 10 th. Some of us do that before going to bed on Saturday evening. Yes, we will lose one hour of peaceful sleep. will be held on Saturday April 6, 2019, beginning at 10:00 am, at St. Mary Church in St. Clairsville. The program titled Setting Our Hearts on Pilgrimage will be presented by Nadia Mitchell, who is a member of Christ the King University Parish in Athens, Ohio. Diocese of Steubenville Men s Day of Renewal March 23, 2019 The Victory that Overcomes the World A Lenten retreat for the men of the Diocese of Steubenville to be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, Ohio. The guest speaker is Mark Nehrbas a Member of Holy Family Parish in Steubenville. Bishop Monforton will celebrate Mass, confessions will be available, music will be provided throughout the day. PILGRIMAGE TO SOUTHERN ITALY You are invited to join a pilgrimage to Southern Italy! The trip will run from September 23 until October 3, 2019 and will begin in Rome, then to Monte Cassino, Nettuno (home of St. Maria Goretti), Pompeii, Capri, and then to Pietrelcina, home of St. Padre Pio, and then to his monastery & shrine, St. Giovanni Rotondo. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence. For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal.
