To one he gave five talents; to another, two; to a third, one-to each according to his ability. Then he went away. After a long time the master of those servants came back and settled accounts with them. The one who had received five talents came forward bringing the additional five. He said, 'Master, you gave me five talents. See, I have made five more.' His master said to him, 'Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master's joy.'" Learning, Living and Sharing the Good News
2 Catholic Campaign for Human Development Next week, we will be collecting for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Over 46 million people in the United State live in poverty. This collection supports programs to empower people to identify and address the obstacles they face as they work to lift themselves out of poverty. By supporting this collection, you give people a hand up, not a hand out. Learn more about the Catholic Campaign for Human Development at: STA LADIES GUILD November Pot Luck Luncheon Tuesday, November 14th at NOON, prior to the General Monthly Meeting. (Please bring a dish to share.) This will be followed by our Annual SOLVE Baby Shower where donations of unwrapped baby gifts will be presented to SOLVE. In addition, there will be an Avon Product Presentation and Makeover Demonstration. Mark your calendars for an afternoon of enjoyable activities! 7 Faith Formation For All! Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour." From Matthew 25 In the daily busy activities of family life, we can easily find excuses for not making time for our faith. If we don t give it a priority, important things like prayer & reflecting scripture can become the occasional afterthought - instead of the daily routine. In today s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that if we don t give our spiritual life priority, we will find ourselves unprepared to receive Jesus. Daily prayer and spiritual practice keeps us ready to receive Jesus. As a Family talk about some of the things your faith calls you to do daily & weekly to keep God first in your lives. Talk about what might happen if we don t do these things regularly. Remember, Jesus taught us that it is important to keep ourselves ready to receive him when he comes again. Read Matthew 25:1-13. What are ways to remain ready in your every day life? Besides prayer, scripture reflection, participation in Mass and faith formation using The Lord s Prayer as your guide, how are you doing with the following: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. How often do I think about God & how much He does for me? Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Am I respectful, kind, helpful & loving to others? Give us this day our daily bread. Do I remember to be appreciative of others who help me, & helpful to others in need? Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Do I say I m sorry when wrong, and mean it? Do I forgive others who hurt me, and mean it? Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Do I live fairly, truthfully do I avoid cheating, dishonesty & gossip? Family Faith Sessions THIS Week (Sunday morning 11/12 and both Wednesday sessions 11/15) - PARENTS REMAIN WITH KIDS FOR SHARED SESSION IN PARISH HALL Thanksgiving break 11/19-11/26.
