Parents who will be having a child baptized are required to attend one of the Baptism classes. Scheduled date: March 15, 2013 & May 17, Class will be held at the Parish Center at 6:30pm. Please call the parish office, when you wish to schedule your class date. We recommend that you attend these classes during your pregnancy, before your baby is born. Please call the parish office to schedule your child s baptism after you have attended class. CAN YOU HELP??? We are in need of volunteers with 2 areas of expertise: 1) The doors at St. Pat s Church have trouble with their locking mechanism and do not work correctly. Do you know how to fix them? 2) The binding on the Book of the Gospels has started to come loose. Do you have experience with binding books, etc? If you can help with either of these projects, please contact Liz in the parish office: ext LENTEN LUNCHES begin on Friday, February 15th with Noon Mass at St. Patrick s followed by lunch in St. Patrick s cafeteria. If you would be willing to help with cooking a meatless lunch on one of the Fridays in Lent, please call Amy Vance at or the Parish Office at You can ask to be reimbursed for your groceries. The dates for the lunches are Friday, February 15, February 22, March 1, March 8, March 15 and the last one is March 22. WE ALSO NEED HOMEMADE BARS OR COOKIES FOR THOSE FRIDAYS. You can bring your cookies or bars to the Parish Center. We thank you in advance for all your help. SCRIP. Thank you to all who purchase SCRIP in our parish. We are proud to announce that last year we sold $407,285 in SCRIP. The return to the parish as profit was $16, Our goal for 2013 is $500,000 in sales. Please invite other families to join you in buying SCRIP. If you have yet to become a SCRIP buyer please stop at the table or the parish office and take a look at what is available. This is free money to the parish as the profit comes from the companies who sell us SCRIP at a discount. We have SCRIP available for every grocery store and gas station in town, as well as many restaurants, both local and chains, and a lot of the retailers you find around the area. A big thank you also goes out to those of you who sell SCRIP at all Masses. First Thursday Eucharistic Adoration will be held on Feb. 7 in the Benedictine Chapel. Daily Mass will be at 8am followed by Exposition; Rosary at 2pm; Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3pm; confessions from 6 to 7:15pm; Benediction at 7:30pm. We need at least 2 people present per hour: please sign up in the back of Church or outside the chapel if you can commit to an hour. Blessed be God! A Coordinator for Joy Day is needed for the parish. Joy Day is a Triniteamsponsored event held at the Rotunda of Sacred Heart Hospital for senior citizens and residents of nursing homes; event includes entertainment, bingo & refreshments. Our Joy Day is the 1st Thursday in April (4-4-13), which we host along with another church. The parish coordinator is responsible for securing 5-6 helpers, and we provide sandwiches, bars and juice. Please contact Jeanne at if you can help with this event. Have you made any New Year s Resolutions yet? Consider joining the choir! We meet every Thursday from 7-8:30pm in the St. Pat s loft and sing most Sundays at 9:00am Mass. If you have any questions or are interested, call Liz in the parish office at x103.

For families who are new and for families who are currently in the system, you are welcome to attend the sneak preview. 40 DAYS FOR LIFE Kickoff Rally for 2013 will be held on Sat., Feb. 10am in the Parish Center. Featured speaker is Sue Thayer, a former manager at a Planned Parenthood in Iowa for 17 yrs. who told herself because they did not do surgical abortion it was ok. After her conversion to pro-life she began a 40 Days for Life event in front of the same office she had worked at, and after a few campaigns the office closed. FISH FRY sponsored by St. Olaf s Men s Club on Friday, Feb. 1 serving from 4 to 7pm in the Parish Center at 2407 North Lane. Fried or battered fish, choice of potatoes, beans, veggies, dessert, coffee and milk. $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and $4 for children ages Carryouts available for $8. THE EAU CLAIRE CATHOLIC WOMAN S CLUB will hold its annual Cards & Games Luncheon Social on Monday, Feb. 11 at 11:30am at the Barley Club, located at the Pine Meadows Golf Club. Chili Feed prices are $8.00 for all you can eat! $25 Max per family. 5 years and under, free. (hot dogs & mac & cheese available). WEEKEND KIDS MEALS. We are partnering with Feed My People & Northwood's Elementary to provide 4 weekend meals for kids. Meals are packaged at the food bank & delivered to the school. WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS. We also need to raise half the cost to continue this program in the future. It cost about $65 a school year per child. There will be envelopes in back of both churches for donations to support the project.
