Parents who will be having a child baptized, are required to attend one of the Baptism classes. Scheduled dates: July 18, 2008 and Sept. 19, Classes will be held at the Parish Center at 6:30pm. Please call the parish office, when you wish to schedule your class date. We recommend that you attend these classes during your pregnancy, before your baby is born. Baptisms are scheduled on the 2nd weekend of the month at Masses or other times by appointment. The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit. But the seed sown on rich soil is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Mt 13: SECOND COLLECTION FOR FLOOD RELIEF Will take place during each Mass the weekend of July 19 & 20. Religious Education & Youth Ministry Michelle Bowe, DRE/Youth Minister AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING will be held for all youth in grades 7 through 9 on July 23rd at 6:30pm in St. Patrick s cafeteria. Leaven 2 Heaven Youth Rally on August 23 in Blaire, WI for youth in grades 7 and up! This Eucharist centered rally will be meaningful and energizing for the youth with Bishop Listecki offering Mass, as well as other powerful presentations, lots of free food, great music and fun! All Sacred Heart St. Patrick youth going into grades 7 and up are invited. We also ask parents, God-parents, grandparents and friends to encourage the youth to attend! 5 Community Events ST. ANTHONY PARISH, DRYWOOD will hold an all you can eat pancake breakfast and bake sale on Sunday, July 20 from 8am to 12 noon. Cost is $5 for adults/teenagers, $3 for ages 5-12, with preschool free. St. Anthony s is located 7 miles north of Cadott on Highway 27 and 1 mile west on County S. ST. PETER S CHURCH IN TILDEN will be having their annual Shin-Dig on Sunday, July 20th. A charcoal chicken dinner will be served from 11am to 4pm. Bingo starts at 1:30pm. Live music, kids games, silent auction and many other family activities through out the afternoon. Handicap accessible dinners available. WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER Weekend can rekindle the spark in your relationship. The next weekend is Aug. 1-3 at the Franciscan Retreat Center in Prior Lake, Minnesota. CATHOLIC PILGRIMAGE TO ROME, FLORENCE, MILAN on October 27 thru November 7, 2008 with Father William Felix of St. Charles in Chippewa Falls and Deacon Steve Najarian, M.D., deacon of St. Charles in Minneapolis. Fr. Felix & Deacon Najarian organized this pilgrimage in honor of the patron of the parishes they serve. Highlights include Rome: general audience with Pope Benedict XVI, ancient Rome, Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter s Basilica & more. Florence: accommodations in a Renaissance Villa overlooking the city, and Milan: a tour of Pavia, the Duomo of Milan and the tomb of St. Charles Borromeo. And much more. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Sonshine Days, for children ages 4 to 12 years old are invited to attend at St. James the Greater on July 21st through July 25th from 8:30 to 11:30am each day.
