RESULTS OF MASS CHANGE SURVEY Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey last month, regarding reducing our weekend Mass schedule from 4 to 3 Masses. We received 554 responses. The responses to the 4 options that were listed are as follows: 4pm at Sacred Heart, 8:30 & 10:30am at St. Pat s 108 4pm at St. Pat s, 8:30 & 10:30am at Sacred Heart 75 4pm at Sacred Heart, 8 and 10am at St. Pat s 168 4pm at St. Pat s, 8 and 10am at Sacred Heart 73 No preference but had comments 130 Many were supportive of having 3 Masses per weekend, but felt it important to have a Sunday Mass at each Church. Some did not want any changes for the weekend Masses. A few commented that time & location would make no difference to them. I have consulted with parish staff, members of the Parish and Finance Councils, and several parishioners have shared their thoughts. At this time, no decision has been made, and I will wait until the Fall. If any changes are made, they wouldn t take effect until later this year. And there may be no changes at all. It is through your financial support that missionary activities are carried out in India: building roofs over the heads of orphans, building small chapels for their faith formation and promoting the Catholic education. 4 Community Events Let s Hit the Trail! Register for Sonshine Days (VBS), July at St. James the Greater Parish. This year s theme will be SonWest Roundup where we will lead your buckaroos to Jesus! Sonshine Days is open to any child 3 years 12 years old (must be 3 by January 2013). Registration and volunteer forms can be found on our website: ST. PETER S IN TILDEN will be having their annual Shin-Dig on Sunday, July 21, Following the 10:00 am Mass, a charcoal chicken dinner will be served from 11am until 4pm. Bingo starts at 12:30pm. Live music, kid s games, silent auction, country store and many other family activities through out the afternoon. Taste of Tilden cookbooks are available. We are handicap accessible. WOMEN OF FAITH Believe God Can Do Anything conference in St. Paul, Friday and Saturday, Oct , We will leave St. James Church and stay at the Fairfield Inn. VOLUNTEER TO HOST a student from Big Ben Centre, a private language school in Spain. The program dates began June 28th and continue to July 22nd. Your responsibilities will consist of a safe living environment, 3 meals a day, a bed to sleep in and laundry service. At our Finance Council meeting, we decided to go ahead with these repairs and are asking for your help. At Sacred Heart: tuck-pointing/repair of loose stone on columns & piers by steps to rectory; also entry steps to Church. At St. Patrick s: at Oxford entry replace stoop & railings; minor tuck-pointing on rectory brick joints, replace steps/landing to rectory & railing; replace sections of sidewalk, replace pier extensions & 2 entry slabs on Fulton St. Total cost of project is $12, If you are able to contribute to this please mark your checks For Building Improvements. The Young Adult ministries of St. Mary s in Altoona and Sacred Heart St. Patrick in Eau Claire are teaming up to sponsor some summer events. All young adults (ages 20-39) in the Chippewa Valley are welcome. Here is what we have lined up so far: Sunday, July 14: Picnic and cookout from 11am to 4pm at Pine Pavilion in Carson Park. Sunday, Aug. 18: Attend Mass together in Chippewa Falls, grab some lunch, then float down the river to Loopy s. Still to be scheduled: service project & possible pilgrimage.
