As in previous years, we have some money set aside to assist those truly in need, but these funds are limited. I am asking you to fill out the financial aid material enclosed and return it by June 23, This will be the deadline for this year s request. I am also requiring that everyone who applies with the parish also fill out the C.A.S.E. financial assistance forms, so please do not ignore that avenue of assistance. Our hope is that with combined resources, we might be able to assist every family that wants a Catholic education, to receive one. Combined totals of all area churches brought 5,174 pounds of food and $8,001 on May 4th. With $1, Feed My People can obtain and distribute 7.14 pounds of food. $8,001 will allow us to provide nearly 57,000 pounds of food; combined with the food collected, nearly 50,000 meals can be provided from this year s Load-A-Truck Sunday. 6 Community Events PLEASE JOIN ProLife Wisconsin Eau Claire for a prayer service to mark the 43rd anniversary of the 1965 Griswold vs. Connecticut Supreme Court decision which opened the doors to abortion on demand. We will meet at 11am, June 7th at the Planned Parenthood on Menomonie Street followed by a picnic at nearby Carson Park. We are looking for volunteers from the community who have an interest in the following areas: card games, baking, woodwork, community service projects, flower arranging, crafts, fishing, baseball, football, star gazing and classic cars. We are also looking for musicians who would like to share their talents with us. We are currently home to about 40 residents. Clubs and activities are offered daily.
