Eucharistic Adoration Friday 8:30-9:30 am (Dane) Sacrament of Baptism Our Baptismal Preparation Program is required for parents and Godparents who wish to have a child baptized. Please call the parish office in advance to register for the class and the baptism. Sacrament of Marriage The common policy of the Diocese of Madison requires a six month minimum notice before the date of marriage. Sick Calls or Team Care Please notify the parish office if you or someone you know would like Holy Communion at home, is in the hospital, or in need of Team Care.
2 NEWS & NOTES Traveling Chalice In August, the Traveling Chalice is at Saint Michael. As part of the Traveling Chalice program each host family is asked to say a prayer each day as a family for increased vocations and for current seminarians in the diocese, and to display the chalice in an appropriate but visible place at home. Look for sign-up sheets for August at Saint Michael, September at Saint Thomas and October at Saint Patrick near the church entrance. CCW Bake Sale Results The Blessed Trinity Council of Catholic Women Bake Sale on August 5 th and 6 th made a profit of $ Thank you to everyone that contributed to and/or supported the sale. Thank you to Lodi Chair Sally Kjorlie, Joyce Prosa Cowling, Jo Van Swol, Glen and Sally Niesen, Dane Chair Barb Taylor and Cathy Clemens Meinholz. The last bake sale of the season will be September 2nd and 3rd after all Masses in Dane and Lodi. Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary August 15th The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation. Father Scott will celebrate Holy Mass on Tuesday at 8:00 am in Lodi and 6:30 pm in Dane. In observance of this solemnity, the Parish Offices will be closed on Tuesday. 2 SCRIP is available after Masses at Saint Patrick this weekend. Sunday, August 20th - 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at Saint Patrick, Lodi Our Parish Festival is Sunday, August 20, Please save the date on your calendars. We look forward to continuing to build up our festival with your help and support! We pray for good weather and a great Festival. CHILDREN S GAME PRIZES The Festival Prize Committee is looking for children s prizes for this years event. If you would like to donate prizes for this year's Festival, you can drop them off with Mary in the Parish Office. We would love some medium to large type items including nerf toys, frisbees, lunch boxes/bags, novelty glasses with straws and sidewalk chalk, edible chocolate treats, movie-like treats, nail polish, pool toys, squirt guns, princess items. Thanks so much for your consideration! DONATIONS FOR SILENT AUCTION AND COUNTRY MARKET *Donations of unique items, "theme-related" goodies, or entertainment tickets packed together in a box, basket, bag, or bucket to boost the bidding are being sought for our "End of Summer" Parish Festival Silent Auction! *This year's Country Market, will feature the creative and culinary talents of parishioners with donations of home-made candies, home-baked goodies, home-canned and fresh garden produce, home-produced "mixes in a jar" and hand-crafted personal, household, yard and garden items. Please watch for your assignment sheet to indicate a donation of Country Market items. Non-perishable donations to the market or to the silent auction may be brought to the parish center any time this summer prior to the festival; perishable food donations need to be brought Friday-Saturday, August Please identify items for the Silent Auction or the Country Market. Thank you! CUTEST BABY & PET PHOTO CONTEST Do you know a cute baby or pet? If so, then you are invited to enter Blessed Trinity Parish s End of Summer Festival Cutest Baby & Pet Photo Contest! The winner for each of the two categories will be awarded $50.00 and will also be featured on the cover of a future parish bulletin and on our parish website! All photos will BABY or PET be voted on at our parish festival on Sunday, August 20 by those attending, and winners will be announced that afternoon at 3:30 pm. To enter please bring a photo of a cute baby or pet to the parish office with the following information lightly written on the back of it: 1) your name and contact information; 2) how you are related to the baby (the photo must be of a child 24 months or younger and you must be related and have obtained parental consent to "show" the baby photo) if it is a baby; 3) your baby or pet s name. All photos must be submitted to the parish office by August 16, and please do not submit original photos as all of the photos will be disposed of after the contest ends. Good luck - and may the cutest baby and pet win! IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE!! 4:30 pm Holy Mass on Saturday August 19 will be celebrated at Saint Michael Church in Dane. Parking for 10:00 am Holy Mass at Saint Patrick in Lodi on Sunday August 20 - please park on Fair Street or at the Lodi Elementary School parking lot on Clark Street where a Shuttle service will be available for those who would like a ride over to Saint Patrick (all day).
3 PARISH & COMMUNITY EVENTS Third Quarter Birthday Party Our quarterly birthday celebration for parishioners observing their 80th and above birthday in the months of July, August, September will be held Tuesday, August 22 following the 8:00 am Mass at Saint Patrick Church in the parish hall, Lodi (8:45-9:45 am). A spouse, family member, friend or care-giver is invited to join those celebrating! Volunteers to assist with light refreshments, or set-up and clean-up chores are needed. Please contact Cindy Fischer in the parish office to assist. Thank you! Community Outreach *Volunteers to assist with our monthly parish sponsored birthday party at Haven Hills Care Facility, 215 Dale Street, Lodi are needed Tuesday, August 15, 1:15-2:45 pm. Duties include set-up and clean-up chores, assisting with the party game, and socializing with the residents. Heat UP! Wisconsin Every year, since 2010, the Lennox dealers of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan donate up to 100 furnaces to homeowners in need at absolutely no charge to the recipient. So far, over 500 furnaces (a value of $2.2 million) have been donated and installed free-of-charge in Wisconsin and the UP. They rely on nominations and believe parishioners can help by spreading the word or nominating people you know who could use a helping hand. This program consists of small dealers who want to make a difference in their communities. You are a key to helping them find people in your neighborhood who could use a new furnace in their home. A separate mailing is sent to those families with grade 9 youth who may enter the Confirmation Preparation process. Share The Joy Of Your Catholic Faith! Teachers, room assistants and program support volunteers are needed for our parish religious education classes, Preschool thru Grade 8. We can't think of a better way to touch the lives of young people with the joy of knowing Christ and to grow in our own understanding of our Catholic Faith.
