3 The Ladies Craft Chat & Chew was a huge success this quarter. Thank you to Shannon Brannan from Junque Finds for sponsoring and organizing this wonderful time of fellowship and crafting. We had a blast seeing all the creativity flow and had over 40 Bethany ladies in attendance. We can't wait until next quarter! Hope you can attend! Our Bethany Worship Orchestra in concert Sunday night, August 12th, as they presented "Glory" by Michael W. Smith. What a wonderful tribute to God's glory. Thank you to Brian & Lynn Faglier, the entire orchestra and everyone who helped with the concert. It was a blessing to all!

5 BETHANY BAPTIST KIDS GOOD NEWS CLUB TRAINING Volunteers are needed! Training will be held at Bethany on Friday, August 24th. See Pastor Barry for more information Abigail Bishop Baptism We are thrilled to announce that Bethany Baptist will be bringing our Fall Festival to our local neighborhoods this year! Halloween 2018 falls on a Wednesday so what better way to have a community outreach than to go to the kids that are already out trick or treating! BBK on the Block will be held in designated church members driveways or yards. As kids pass by to trick or treat, we will pass out candy, have games for them to play as well as fun extras like popcorn machines, balloons and much more! All while sharing the love of Jesus and giving out church information. We would like for you to consider what way you could participate! Sunday school classes, could you sponsor one of the homes? We need our church members to volunteer to help at the designated host homes and love on these children as they come by. And we also need candy donations! Contact Pastor Barry at and let him know how you would like to be involved in making this event successful!

7 THANK YOU Thank you to EVERYONE who contributed time and/or donated for the school supply drive this month! We were able to bless the 50 classrooms at Eagles Landing Middle School. They truly appreciated our gift and it was an encouragement for the faculty and staff. It was an incredible witness for Christ. Please pray for them, along with the entire Henry County School System. There is a TREMENDOUS NEED for God's Love in our schools. Next Steps (Connections) is a three hour class offered to our guests and new members that introduces our staff, ministries, missions, beliefs and workings of Bethany Baptist Church. It is an excellent way to get to know who we are, what we believe, how to find your spiritual gifts for serving and volunteering and most importantly what it means to be a member of Bethany. 8 JOY MINISTRY TO DELTA FLIGHT MUSEUM Our Joy Ministry went on an outing to to the Delta Flight Museum last Saturday, August 11th. Thanks to Terry Glenn for driving the bus. SEARCHERS SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS SERVES AT CALVARY Our Searchers class served at Calvary Refuge Homeless Shelter last night. They were blessed to provide dinner to over 50 adults & children. Please say a prayer for those at Calvary. If you are looking for a way to serve others, this is a good place to start! Bethany Baptist Church Celebrating a rich heritage and a bright future 160th Anniversary Celebration Bethany Baptist Church Picnic Sunday, October 7th, 2018 Noon - 4 PM In the Park Come celebrate together! God has blessed Bethany with 160 years. It is also a great opportunity to invite neighbors and friends to experience Bethany fellowship. Members are encouraged to dress in era style costumes as we did at the 150th Celebration, but it is not required. The Deacons will be providing and cooking the BBQ, the Church is providing sides and drinks (Hot Dogs available for the non BBQ eaters). Additionally Church members are asked to bring desserts to share. Bring a chair and enjoy! Food will be served starting at 12:45 PM Planned Games and Entertainment: Inflatable Slides and Bounce Houses Video Game Truck with * Ring Toss * Frisbee Game * Bean Bag Toss Additional inflatables In the event of rain, we will move the picnic inside the Lighthouse gym.
