The scrip program helps our school with no cost to you, purchase a scrip card for what you need and help our parish and school grow. Scrip is sold before and after the Saturday night and Sunday morning Mass. It may also be ordered through the HTC website. Parish Calendar Mark your calendars St. Boniface Mass will by Saturday, September 15th at 7:30pm there will be no Mass Sunday at 10:30AM St. Boniface Fall Dinner, Sunday, Sept 16th. In addition to a delicious dinner served from 11am 1pm, there are a variety of wonderful baskets and items up for bid. Items include; a beautiful quilt, a Sundae Fun-day party for six, gift cards to Fun City, Walmart, and Applebees, a Read and Relaxation basket, and much more. Also raffle tickets are still available for $1 or 6 for $5. Sts. Peter & Paul s School Yard Sale is Saturday, September 15th from 8:30am to 1:00pm in the school gym Nauvoo, IL. All kinds of items for sale from clothes, furniture, toys, house wares, books, shoes and much more! A bake sale will be sponsored by the teachers too! St. Alphonsus Parish invites you to join them for the Autumn Festival, Sunday, September 16th. The day includes Roast Beef Dinner from 10:30am to 1:00pm $10 for adults, kids 6-10 $5, a Silent auction, country corner goodies, 50/50 raffle and golden ticket. Live auction begins at 1:00pm Next weekend will be the first of two weekends to go to the Ossenbrink Center and make a donation to this year s St. Mary s Fall Festival. St. Boniface will have a training for anyone who signed up to be a Eucharistic Minister, Sunday, September 23rd immediately following 11:30am. St. Mary s and St. Boniface will Kick off the Annual Diocesan Appeal at weekend Masses September 22nd and September 23rd. You should also be receiving a letter from the Diocese this week regarding the Annual Diocesan Appeal. We ask that you prayerfully consider making a donation. Donations can be made as a one time check or you can make a pledge and then pay monthly via check or as an automatic withdraw from your bank account. The goal for St. Mary s is $27,149 and for St. Boniface is $11,457. Everyone of the baptized should feel involved in the church and social change that we so greatly need. This change calls for a personal and communal conversion that makes us see things as the Lord does. Pope Francis is telling us that the truth is the first step of healing. And he is calling us to a deeper solidarity with those who have suffered abuse at the hands of the church to truly see them and their suffering to not turn a blind eye. The Pope calls us to the time honored disciplines of prayer and penance. The Holy Father is calling all of us to devote ourselves to prayer and penance. St. Mary s celebrated the Mass for the forgiveness of sins Friday, September 8th and will again on Friday, September 28th at 7:30 AM. Fr. Hoffman

3 Everyday Stewardship: I love watching replays of great sports highlights. Sometimes you see something so extraordinary that you tell others they have to see it to believe it. The one-handed catch, the in-the-park home run, and the photo finish are all examples of these types of moments. They are amazing feats that boggle the mind. I wonder how many people in biblical times saw Jesus perform miracles and told others they wouldn't have believed it unless they saw it with their own eyes. Of course, we believe the stories of his miracles, and we didn't see them in person. We do believe them, don't we? There is no television program that features replays of the actual miracles Jesus performed 2,000 years ago. However, there are miracles every day for the world to see. Many of those come about by allowing God to work through us. People are waiting to be healed and fed, and mountains are waiting to be moved. There might not be a replay for these miracles either. However, people will be amazed by the power of God. Jesus said we could do these things if we had faith. Blessed are those who believe but who have not seen. Furthermore, blessed are those who perform great works with God so that others may see. --Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS A Bible Study will be starting on Monday September 17th at 6:30 pm at the Parish office in West Point. We will be having a late birthday party for our Blessed Mother. Come and enjoy the fun and food. Grandparents Day Blessing God of our ancestors, we thank you for our children and our children's children. They are reminders from you about how precious life can be. We humbly ask for wisdom and patience as we take pride and wonder in our grandchildren. Those of us who now pray to you also seek your blessing upon these men and women who are our grandparents or who act in place of grandparents. Bless all the children and their parents and grandparents with your abundant grace. We ask all this through the intercession of Saints Joachim and Anne, parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary, patron saints of grandparents, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Crusader Corner: Holy Trinity Catholic has had a fantastic start to the school year. On August 21st, HTC and other area Catholic school teachers were treated to an inspirational mass and a guest speaker, Thomas Kiely from Marquette University. He spoke about the importance of Catholic identity in our school system. The first day of school, August 22nd, started out with Mass for both the elementary school and the junior/senior high school. The schools were full of joy and excitement as we came together to learn and grow academically and spiritually. Thank you to all parishioners for your prayers, support, and caring.
