Elvey * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * In the pulpit today: Sam Palpant was born in Lansing, Michigan and was born again into Christ's family in a 4th grade Sunday school class in Woodland Park, Colorado. In 1970 he graduated from Penn State, married Judy and headed to Philadelphia and Temple Medical School. After a residency in Tucson, Arizona, he and his family moved to Kenya where he served in a Quaker mission hospital for nearly 6 years. There, he learned to trust God with his faith questions. In 1985 Scott Edminster and Joel Crosby helped recruit Sam to come from Kenya to Spokane to work with Internal Medicine residents and join the Knox family. When he can, Sam relishes time with family, reads and writes poetry, plays and enjoys music, and bird watches out his dining room window.
