Ligonier Valley Association of Churches requests items for Ligonier s Food Pantry Holy Trinity will be collecting Ketchup and Mustard for the Ligonier Valley Food Pantry during the month of July into August. Please place your donation of ketchup/ mustard in the container provided in the Church Narthex. The container will be available until August 7. Thank you in advance for contributing to your local community. Our Lady of the Assumption Legacy Society event August 10, 2017 Bishop Edward C. Malesic will celebrate Mass and host a luncheon for members of the Our Lady of the Assumption Legacy Society August 10 at noon at the Bishop Connare Center. James Monteverde, founder of The Monteverde, a firm providing service in estate planning and financial counseling, will be the guest speaker. This special society provides an opportunity for benefactors to make their philanthropy a perpetual legacy for themselves and an example for their families to follow. It also creates a means of support to make our parishes and ministries stronger, sustainable and better equipped to spread the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ for generations to come. Drug education and prayer service evenings with Bishop Malesic continue in August The Summer Diocesan Drug Education and Prayer Service Evenings, which Bishop Edward C. Malesic announced in A Pastoral Letter on the Drug Abuse Crisis: From Death and Despair to Life and Hope, continues: Wed., Aug. 2, St. Joseph Parish, Uniontown; Thurs., Aug. 3, Our Lady of Grace Parish, Greensburg; Tues., Aug. 8, St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Kittanning; Thurs., Aug. 10, Mary Queen of Apostles School, Greenwald Site, New Kensington; and Wed., Aug. 16, St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana. The sessions all begin at 7 PM and are open to the public. There will be an educational presentation about the opioid epidemic in the region, a question-and-answer session and a prayer service led by Bishop Malesic. Read the pastoral letter at NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING INSTRUCTION CM-BBT is a medically based, scientifically researched, highly effective NFP method that safely promotes personal health and wellness of body. CM-BBT invites better marriages, enhances couple communication and encourages mutual respect and responsibility. This NFP Method can be used to avoid, postpone, plan or achieve pregnancy. The next Natural Family Planning CM-BBT Method INSTRUCTION is scheduled for MONDAY August 14, 2017 beginning at 6pm at the Catholic Charities office in Greensburg. Participants are required to attend only ONE session. The instruction, continued support and follow-up are provided by a medically certified CM-BBT Professional. Please call at least one week prior to instruction date to PRE- register. Food Bank Truck Food Distribution Thank you to all our parishioners who worked alongside members of Calvary Methodist Church in Holy Trinity's parking lot on July 6 to distribute food for the needy. From viewing the number of recipients waiting patiently in the heat and rain, it was evident that the Food Bank Fresh Express distribution is a necessary and very much appreciated ministry.
