4 WE WELCOME Pastor Larry Thomas as our preacher this morning. He served as a Pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Issaquah, before his retirement. Pastor and his wife Ann recently became members of Saint Andrew s. THE EMMAUS TRIO is Dr. Will Simpson, Karin Islip, and Lauren Root. After performing in the orchestra at Saint Andrew s last summer, these accomplished musicians decided to rehearse together on a weekly basis and became The Emmaus Trio. They enjoy performing both standard repertoire works as well as works that are unique and rarely performed. The Emmaus Trio is part of the Saint Andrew s concert series and will perform on Sunday, May 15, at 3:00 pm. KNITWITS: The green and blue items that you see on the altar rail were made by the KnitWits (Knitting as Witnesses) for SOWA (Special Olympics Washington), who chose the colors. These items will be given to the athletes who are participating in SOWA in Wenatchee on March 4-6. SOWA events include Alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, figure and speed skating. W E L C O M E TODAY AT SAINT ANDREW S HEALING PRAYERS are offered during the distribution of Holy Communion. Kneelers are provided on the east and west sides of the sanctuary. Trained healing ministers are waiting to receive your requests before or after receiving the Eucharist. It can be especially meaningful to have a laying on of hands and an anointing of oil, if desired. It is appropriate to bring ANY request or concern that you may have for yourself or someone else. These may be prayers for emotional, spiritual, or physical healing. It can be a peace that brings wholeness, according to God s will, in a number of ways. If you are unable to walk to the kneelers, please ask an usher to assist or move to the bottom of the stairs on the East side of the sanctuary (near the pulpit) and the Healing Minister will come to you. NO WORSHIP SERVICE CAPTIONING: Please note that there is no captioning of today s worship service. Our next captioned service will be March 6. 4
