1 March 27, 2016 Order of Worship 8:30 am, 11:00 am Resurrection of Our Lord, Easter Day Please silence all electronic devices and prepare for worship. PRELUDE Rigaudon [Andre Campra, Brass, Organ, Percussion arr. Daniel Leavitt] ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE DAY Pastor McEachran A Early on the first day of the week, the disciples of Jesus went to the tomb where he had been buried, only to find that the stone had been rolled away and the tomb was empty. In Christ, we gather here as his disciples, on the first day of the week, to celebrate the good news of the gospel: Jesus Christ has risen from the dead! Alleluia! Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia! HYMN The Day of Resurrection! ELW Hymn 361 CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS APOSTOLIC GREETING A The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. HYMN OF PRAISE PRAYER OF THE DAY (congregation is seated) FIRST LESSON Acts 10:34-43 L Word of God. Word of Life. PSALM 118:1-2, (spoken responsively: A Assisting Minister; Congregation) SECOND LESSON 1 Corinthians 15:19-26 L Word of God. Word of Life. (congregation stands) Congregation A Assisting Minister Pastor Today s Theme As the women come to the tomb this morning they find it empty, and are confronted what life will look like after the resurrection. We too are confronted with this question. Does the resurrection make a difference in your life? What does it mean for you that Jesus rose from the dead? What does a faithful life of discipleship look like after the resurrection? Join us during the season of Easter as we explore these questions. 1

2 GOSPEL ACCLAMATION The Good News of Jesus according to Luke. Glory to you, O Lord. GOSPEL The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ. Luke 23:56b--24:11 SERMON Promise to Proclamation Pastor Telyea HYMN OF THE DAY Alleluia! Sing to Jesus ELW Hymn 392 NICENE CREED A We confess our faith in the words of the Nicene Creed. We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. 2
