4 PARTICIPANTS Presiding Minister Pastor James N. McEachran Director of Music Ministries/Organist Dr. Will Simpson Assisting Minister Tom Getzinger Communion Assistant Judy Gowdy Healing Ministers Jan Benson, Mikel Oswalt Acolyte Sara Marti Altar Guild Ann Berglind, Deanna Oeffner Greeters Maureen and JJ Dorwart Lector Marli Edde Ushers Ann Thorpe, Joan Tweten Coffee Host Sherry Grindeland Musicians Shelly Abner, violin; Leslie Johnson, viola; Annie Tang, violin; William Johnson, cello WELCOME to WORSHIP HEALING PRAYERS are offered during the distribution of Holy Communion. Kneelers are provided on the east and west sides of the sanctuary. Trained healing ministers are waiting to receive your requests before or after receiving the Eucharist. It can be especially meaningful to have a laying on of hands and an anointing of oil, if desired. It is appropriate to bring ANY request or concern that you may have for yourself or someone else. These may be prayers for emotional, spiritual, or physical healing. It can be a peace that brings wholeness, according to God s will, in a number of ways. If you are unable to walk to the kneelers, please ask an usher to assist or move to the bottom of the stairs on the East side of the sanctuary (near the pulpit) and the Healing Minister will come to you. MUSICIANS: We thank Annie Tang and William Johnson for sharing their musical gifts today. 5 HELP CREATE A COLORFUL FAREWELL for EMILY HARROW: Stop by the table in the Narthex to sign Emily Harrow s farewell scroll. And this time we want you to color outside the lines! Because Emily, the Director of Saint Andrew s Discipleship Ministries, had us coloring posters for Lent and for Advent, it is appropriate that we use those artistic talents to say goodbye. Draw a picture of something you enjoyed, a trip you took with Emily, helping with a fundraiser, participating in Sunday school classes or adult discipleship hours, or just a fancy design. Don t forget to add a written message to the scroll for Emily, Adam and Silas. We also welcome your contribution to the Harrows New Life in Missouri fund. 11 LATTES for the LORD End Summer Hunger with Hopelink End Summer Hunger is Hopelink s effort to ensure that kids on summer break have enough to eat when meals at school are not available. Two Facts: Over 15,000 students in Eastside school districts are enrolled in the Free and Reduced-Price Lunch program during the school year. A $5 donation enables Hopelink to purchase enough healthy food to provide approximately 2 meals for children in need. One Response: Our Outreach and Servant Ministries and Stewardship Committees offer a challenge and opportunity to be a part of the community response: Most of us have a beverage stop of choice a few times a week. In doing so, we buy our favorite drink, and it may be the average price per trip is close to $5. We challenge you to contribute a like amount to the End Summer Hunger program. Let s heap the measure of our giving to be a large movement in support of one of the core Outreach and Servant Values of our congregation. We conclude on September 9 with a celebration of thanksgiving for the blessing that no student is hungry during the summer months. $515 has already been given to this effort. Contribute by cash or check (payable to Saint Andrew s) with LATTE noted on the contribution. NEW! You can now contribute via text message 11
