The website displays real-time captions of what is being spoken in the service, similar to closed captioning on television. You can edit the screen settings listed across the top of the captioning screen to find a combination that you feel comfortable with. Optionally, you can also enter your name next to Chat Name and click enter to activate a chat box which allows you to communicate directly with your remote CART writer similar to Instant Messaging (this feature is not available on smartphones.) SEDER MEAL: On Wednesday of Holy Week, April 16, we celebrate the Seder, the Passover feast which commemorates the flight of God s people from Egypt. For Christians, this meal provides the historical background for the great festival of Easter. The Lord s Supper is linked with the Passover Seder, and concepts such as the Lamb of God and the wine and bread of Communion originate in this Jewish ritual. The remembrance of the Passover is a way of setting our focus on the gift of Jesus as fulfillment of God s plan for the salvation of the world. There is still space for a few people. If you would like to attend, please contact Nona Gram, nona@salchome.org or EASTER BREAKFAST: We would love to have you join us, before or after you worship, next Easter Sunday, April 20, as the San Francisco Mission Youth will serve Easter Breakfast from 7:30 am - 10:45 am. Free-will donations will be taken for your meal. Proceeds benefit the high school kids who are dedicating a week of service this summer on their Mission Trip to Oakland and San Francisco s inner cities. Reservations are not required, but they do help us plan adequately for food. Sign up in the narthex today, April 13. The Mission Trip Team is also looking for extra help to set up and/or serve breakfast. If you would like to help out on Saturday, April 19, or Easter morning, please go to: com/go/20f0c4badad28aa or contact Michele Olson. 6 April 27 and May 4 SALT AND LIGHT - LIVING THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT Presenter: Matt Scott Like thousands of Germans in the 1920s, Eberhard Arnold, a German Lutheran pastor, was disillusioned by the failure of the establishment especially the churches to provide answers to the problems of society in the turbulent years following World War I. In his seeking, he was led to Christ s commandments in the Sermon on the Mount. Like the first followers of Christ, Arnold chose to simply live Jesus words. He found new life by embracing the self-sacrificing and nonviolent demands of the Sermon on the Mount. Come and join in a brief but enlightening overview of Arnold s collection of talks and essays that shows us following these commandments consistently is neither an ideal nor an ordeal, but a matter of course in the community of Jesus. In the community of Jesus, life becomes clear, simple, decisive, and unequivocal.
