Our first degree team will be having a first degree ceremony on December 12th at 10am in PAC Hall, please try to attend and witness the great job that the team does, also showing our incoming brothers the unity and support that we have for each other. I want to thank both Ken Pankowski and Rick Fox for the work they did this past weekend on our membership drive. Both men have a true passion for letting Catholic men know what they are missing out on the longer they put off joining our ranks. It s because of knights like them they we are such a large Council. There were also many other Knights that manned our table at all the masses. With the year coming to an end so are some of our annual programs. Once again John Fry hit it out of the park with his leadership on the Columbian Hope Foundation, the details are on page ten. Thank you to all the knights who captained the weekend teams and all those knights who participated, we couldn t have done it without the hours of help that you all donated. Mark your calendars for the upcoming events in the New Year. January we will a busy month, which will include our 3rd annual Unity and Fraternity Mass, Communion and breakfast on January 17, We will attend 7:00 Mass, and sit as a group with our families, then head to breakfast at Plantation Pancake House 3 miles north of St. Michael s on Business 17 N. 8 8. Fourth Degree Grand Strand Assembly #2107 News & Corp Commander s Report ASSEMBLY 2107 OFFICERS 2014 FAITHFUL FRIAR: REV. EDWARD FITZGERALD FAITHFUL NAVIGATOR: SK JOHN KOKOSKA FAITHFUL CAPTAIN: KEN HEIN FAITHFUL PILOT: SK MIKE BUTRYN FAITHFUL ADMIRAL: SK JOHN AVERELLA FAITHFUL OUTER SENTINEL - STEVE JACKO FAITHFUL INNER SENTINEL: SK DAVID KENNEDY YEAR TRUSTEE: SK MIKE URSO REGIONAL MARSHAL:SK CHARLES VANDEMARK FAITHFUL COMPTROLLER: SK DAVE KRIEBEL FAITHFUL SCRIBE: SK DON BUSCHER FAITHFUL PURSER: SK RAY ST. MICHEL FAITHFUL INNER SENTINEL: SK DAVID KENNEDY YEAR TRUSTEE: SK DENNY LACZO YEAR TRUSTEE: SK BERNIE LODRICK CORP COMMANDER: SK DON MAHER Brother Sir Knights; I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and are ready for Christmas. Even though there are no business meetings scheduled for November and December due to the holidays, we still accomplished quite a bit during the last month. First of all, under the leadership of SK Dom Falcone, we placed, and, a week later, removed, American flags on every veteran s grave in Hillcrest cemetery. The flags were placed on 9 November in a torrential downpour by 12 of our hardy brothers, and removed nine days later on the 18th. Thank you to Dom and all those who helped honor almost 1700 veterans. By the way, the new flags we purchased looked great. The pictures from this event are on the next page. Second, on the weekend of November, we had our annual collection after all masses for our Veteran s/wounded Warriors Fund. Under the leadership of SK Don Maher, we more than doubled our collection from years past. It s not too early to think about any new Vet s organizations which could use our help. Any input will be welcomed. Also, let s extend a big thank you to our Faithful Friar, Father Ed, who gave us permission to have this collection. Finally, on Veteran s Day, our honor guard was invited to perform our flag folding ceremony both for the children of St. Andrew s School and at the Veteran s Day ceremony at Myrtle Beach Convention Center. At St. Andrew s, the school has a special Veteran s Day mass, after which, the team performed the flag ceremony, hopefully teaching the children something about patriotism and respect for the flag. After our performance at the Convention Center, a vet in attendance came up to SK Bernie Lodrick and thanked him and asked more about our Assembly. After hearing about all we do, he donated $ to our Vet s Fund. We don t know if this gentleman is a member of our parish, or even if he s catholic, but helping folks in need transcends all religions, races, or any differences we might have. Thank you to Corps Commander Don Maher and all in the Honor Guard. Please remember to include those serving in the armed forces in your prayers during this Christmas season. It s hard enough being separated from loved ones at this time of year, but it s especially hard if you re in harm s way.
