2 New Evangelization Corner Dear Friends, The Parable of the Talents that we hear in today s Gospel providentially occurs on the heels of our GIFT night on stewardship. As we instructed at GIFT night, Christian stewardship calls us to recognize that everything we are and everything we have is a gift from God to be used to further His Kingdom. God has given each of us a unique set of gifts and talents for the good work He has prepared for us to do. In today s parable, the lazy and wicked servant hides his talent out of fear of his master. Perhaps the wicked servant also thought that the mission entrusted to him was too hard or unreasonable. We, too, can be tempted to let fear paralyze us from participating in the mission God has entrusted to us. Fears that we don t measure up, are not worthy, or do not have what it takes can cripple us and cause us to hide ourselves from the One who wants to shine His light through us. The proclamation of the Gospel is not reserved for other people whose gifts and talents appear greater than ours. The duty to proclaim the Gospel belongs to you and me. The Lord has given us the responsibility to further his Kingdom, and what we do with that responsibility matters! Using our gifts and talents for the Lord requires that we break out of comfort zone and trust that His grace is always present to us. All women from our cluster are invited to attend our first Women of Worship (WoW) night on Monday, November 20th at 6:30 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka in Bowlus. The evening will include a Eucharistic holy hour with praise and worship music and meditations. Women are also invited to bring a snack or dessert to share for fellowship after the holy hour. Let the Lord nurture your heart before the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving festivities. Our cluster will be offering another opportunity to help you grow in your faith! Join us for a five week Bible study called: A Biblical Walk Through the Mass. This study is a great way to deepen your understanding of the Mass by learning about the biblical roots and significance of the words and gestures at Mass. This study will be offered at All Saints- St. Hedwig s Faith Formation Building on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. The first lesson for the Tuesday session will be on November 28th and the first lesson for the Thursday session will be on November 30th.
