From catechetical sessions, sacraments, and Mass, to songs, games and skits your child is sure to have fun while learning more about their Faith! Totus Tuus seeks to inspire in our young people (grades 1st-12th) a true longing for holiness, a deep desire for daily conversion, and an openness to their vocation by challenging them to give themselves entirely to Christ through Mary and by continually strengthening their prayer lives in imitation of Her. St. Isidore was born in Madrid, Spain, in the latter half of the 12th century. For the greater part of his life he was employed as a laborer on a farm outside the city. Many marvelous happenings accompanied his life long work in the fields and continued long after his holy death. He was favored with celestial visions and, it is said, the angels sometimes helped him in his work in the fields. St. Isidore was canonized in In 1947, he was proclaimed the patron of the National Rural Conference in the United states. He is the patron of farmers, and his feast day is May 15th. ~Catholic Online Prayer : God, through the intercession of St. Isidore, the holy Farmer, grant that we may overcome all feelings of pride. 2 New Evangelization Corner ~ Dear Friends, In today s Gospel passage, Jesus tells us to not let our hearts be troubled. How many times have I received similar advice from a friend, only to dismiss it? Yet, when Jesus speaks these words to us, He does so with the authority of God. Jesus s words matter. Jesus s words are truth and should not be dismissed. In spite of Jesus s words, we all experience a troubled heart at times. A hurting marriage, financial distress, illness of a loved one, and anxiety of the future can cripple us with fear, worry and uncertainty. But it is during these times that Jesus speaks the same words to us as He did to Philip: Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me? Jesus s death and resurrection proves His love for us, proves He has overcome tribulations, and proves that He is trustworthy. Ultimately, the paschal mystery reveals the love of the Father who cares for us and desires to be in communion with us. Brothers and sisters, God s love conquers all tribulations and sorrow! Let s entrust our troubled hearts to the loving embrace of God. We will sponsor a Baby Shower by collecting baby items to be donated to Birthline. The Respect Life Committee will have baskets in all the church lobbies from May 13 th June 11 th. Birthline could use the following items: diapers/wipes, formula, infant clothing, infant care items (eg shampoo/body wash, lotion, etc.), breastfeeding supplies and adult care items. Thank you for your generosity! 33 Days to Morning Glory Our Lady of Fatima encouraged consecration to her Immaculate Heart. In this centennial year of her apparitions in Fatima, our parish will be coordinating a 6 week small group-retreat in preparation for marian consecration on the feast day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This retreat is based on Fr. Michael Gaitley s popular book, 33 Days to Morning Glory. All are welcome to attend! Don t miss this amazing opportunity to grow in holiness by entrusting yourself to the heart of Mary. Even if you ve done it before come again. 4 Parish News & Events Immaculate Conception Parish Bazaar is Sunday, June 25th and approaching fast! The raffle books, worker s list and important bazaar information are ready for you to pick up in the entryway of the church. All raffle tickets must be returned by 6:00 p.m. to the quilt and raffle stand. Everything you do is greatly appreciated. The success of our parish bazaar would not be possible without your help. Prizes needed: paddle wheel game-$5-$15, children s game: $1-$5, country store: homemade items such as canned goods, jellies and plants.
