2 New Evangelization Corner Hello, Dear Friends, My name is Mary Solarz, the daughter of Karen and the late As we enter into the second week of Lent, I keep recalling the words Herman Solarz. I belong to the from the first reading on Ash Wednesday: Even now, says the LORD, parish of All Saints in Holdingford. I return to me with your whole heart. Every time I get caught up in what will I m doing be going or not on doing my first for Lent, mission I go trip back on to this June reading 24-July and 3rd remember and feel the beyond point blessed of it all. to share my faith with others from the St. Cloud diocese, The and Liturgical those who season live in of Picota Lent gives Peru. us the opportunity each year to return We will to do the building Lord with projects our whole and heart. visit the It compels sick, elderly, us to cut and out handicapped. He needs to me at Thank you! separate us from the noise, distractions, busyness, and chaos so that He can heal our battered hearts and strengthen us in our identity as beloved sons and daughters of God. Right now we are at the beginning of our desert experience, but soon we will get tired of it. We will begin to miss the comforts of excess, and like the ancient Israelites, we will start to grumble a bit! Today s Gospel of the Transfiguration is meant to help us when our time in the desert gets long. The Transfiguration gives us a foretaste of the happiness God has in store for us if we endure the desert and carry our cross well. Brothers and Sisters, when the desert heat is cranked up a bit, let s keep our eyes on the goal! If God is emptying us, it s so that He can fill us with Himself! The desert emptying is difficult, but it leads us to a greater Easter joy! ~Kristin Molitor Sunday Monday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday This Week s Events February 25th All Saints-St. Mary s Basement 7:00 p.m. Financial Peace class February 26th All Saints St. Mary s Adoration Immaculate Conception basement 7:00 p.m. Women s Group St. Stanislaus 9:30 10:30 a.m. Confessions March 1st All Saints-St. Mary s basement 9:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. Quilting 8:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus, St. Isidore meeting Central office 6:30 p.m. Financial Council Meeting March 2nd Youth Fish Fry March 3rd St. Stanislaus Adoration All Saints-St. Mary s Basement 8:00 a.m. Men s Group March 4th Local Church Pilgrimage Eucaristic Adoration Every Monday All Saints-St. Mary s 8:00 a.m. 10:00 p.m. Every Saturday St. Stanislaus Kostka 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Daily Mass Eucharistic Adoration is also held for one hour following daily Mass on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. 4 Parish News & Events St. Stanislaus St. Stanislaus Parish Council There will be an election of two new Parish Council members one male and one female needed. Tim Jendro and Marion Leners both served two 3 year terms. There will be a box in back of church to place your nominations. Goal: Find ways to reach out to members who aren t all attending Sunday Mass. We are searching and want a strong community life that includes those in nursing homes, college age who are away studying, newly baptized and their parents, newly married and new members. We are dreaming about future projects: A new parish directory, a parish handbook, Events like Bingo that get our community together, updating the sacristy, finding a vision for the use of our rectory in Bowlus and refinishing our Monstrance for the Lord in Adoration. Immaculate Conception All Saints All Saints-St. Hedwig s steps Update We have met with an architect who gave us a good presentation on three plans which were more long term solutions ranging from $300, million dollars. We have asked for an additional simple steps plan which would be a short-term solution which will be about $100,000. The city is now asking us to put this on hold for two months until they sort out building construction requirements for churches. All Cluster Renting the Church Basements The Finance Council has decided to update the policy for church basement rental. It will be $75 to rent with an additional $75 check to be returned if the basement is clean. Payment must be given before your event can be put on the calendar. Thank you. Stipend checks Please make out checks to the All Saints combined Stipend fund for Mass Intentions instead of making them to Fr. Gregory. Thank you. Quilting All Saints-St. Mary s basement. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursdays until the quilts are finished. Everyone welcome! All parishioners are welcome! Seek Jesus this Lent Look here for suggestions for our MinisTree Program. When completing a task fill out one of the MinisTree cards found in the back of church and turn it into the Central Office or collection basket.
