K through 5th grade will have music from 4:00-4:30 in the New Fellowship Hall before Young Disciples. Pre-K music time with parents will follow from 4:30-5:00, also in the New Fellowship Hall. Come prepared to sing, move around, and have fun! Consistory: Due to scheduling conflicts and Valentine s Day falling on the day of our normal meeting date, Consistory will meet this Thursday, February 7 th. Sunday School Teachers Needed: Sunday School teachers are needed for the Children s Sunday School classes from 9:45 10:45. It would only be one time a month and the curriculum is provided. If you are interested or would like more information please contact Carmen Cox, ccox@labcorp.com or Garden Club: The Garden Club will be meeting in the New Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, February 5 th at 7:00 p.m. Pastoral Care Team will meet Thursday, February 28 at 6:00 PM in the parlor. This meeting is for all who desire to serve by offering support and care to members in need of spiritual care during times of illness, suffering and loss.

4 HELP AND DESSERTS NEEDED FOR Chicken Pie and BBQ Supper, March 9. Mt. Hope is famous for our Chicken Pie and BBQ - BUT... we are also famous for our delicious homemade desserts!! This is our largest church fundraiser and we NEED YOU! Please fill out the insert in your bulletin if you can help or provide a desert Or Call Dee Greeson at BINGO: Friday February 22 nd is our yearly CHURCH WIDE bingo night. 6pm-8pm in the New Fellowship Hall. We will have a Salad and Baked Potato meal with several games of bingo. It is sure to be a night filled with laughter and great fellowship. Please RSVP to Gloria Apple with a text or call at or send an to gloria@industrialpowerinc.com by February 17 th so we can get a headcount for the meal. Church Facilities Use: This is a reminder that when anyone requests any of the church facilities for personal use, the forms must be filled out and returned to the church office. A phone call or is NOT sufficient. If the forms are not returned, a problem can arise with multiple requests for the same facility. In the event that this happens, the persons who returned the forms will have first use of the facility in question. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Shirley Connor Affordable Piano Lessons at Mount Hope: Interested in learning how to play the piano or increase the keyboard skills you already have? Mt. Hope's very own Ekin Ustunel has openings to teach piano students of all ages here at Mt. Hope on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. If you are interested please contact Ekin to schedule a free consultation and lessons. Condolences: On Thursday, January 31 st heaven gained a precious soul. Karen Kirkman went home to be with the Lord Thursday, morning, January 31 st. Karen was a faithful and well-loved member of Mt. Hope. She was the wife of Don Kirkman and the mother of Anna Lashley (Jared) and Reed Kirkman (Jennifer). She was the proud grandmother of Gillian and Zoey Lashley and Eliza Kirkman. She had many other relatives and dear friends here at Mt. Hope. Karen will certainly be missed. Her funeral service will take place today, February 3 rd, at 2:00 p.m. here at the church. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers at this time. Boy Scout Troop 365 from Mt. Nationally acclaimed food justice activist Rev. Richard Joyner of the Conetoe N.C. Family Life Center will be our keynote speaker. Following Joyner's presentation, there will be a panel discussion drawing

5 upon the wisdom and experience of North Carolina food justice, health, and environmental advocates. Come learn about the connections between the health of our bodies and the health of the earth; about food justice; about community and vocation. Afterward we will hold a People's Feast! While we will be providing the basics, and there will be no charge, we ask those who are attending to bring a dish representing a favorite heirloom family or church recipe to share.
