Budget Time!! We need the department heads to get any budget requests in by TODAY. Please submit your requests to Joe Hughes or Cliff Greeson. Classic Fit: The Classic Fit Classes have been canceled. Jane has a new teaching position and will be unable to have the class. Hopefully we can start up again later. Raffle Quilt: Cynthia Morris will be outside the Quilters room in the educational building each Sunday following the morning service with tickets to purchase for the quilt that will be raffled off at the Ladies Bazaar this year. Tickets are $1.00 each so get as many as you would like. New Member Inquiry Class: We will be holding new member inquiry classes October 14, 21, and 28 at 9:30. If you or someone you know are interested in learning more about joining the mission and ministries of Mount Hope UCC, please call the church office or Pastor Kristin at kristingvaughn@gmail.com for information. Fill Our Box : It s that time of year again. It seems like school just got out, but it is starting again in a few weeks. This year, as we usually do, we will be helping the two schools in our area, Nathanael Greene and Alamance, by collecting school supplies. We need such items as pencils, pens, crayons, glue sticks, paper, glue, composition books, folders, etc. There is a box in the breezeway for the items that you bring. We are running this campaign through the months of August and September. Thank you for your help.

4 Neighbors In Need Special Mission Offering: Neighbors in Need is a special mission offering of the United Church of Christ that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. One-third of NIN funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry (CAIM). Two-thirds of this offering is used by the UCC's Justice and Witness Ministries (JWM) to support a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects through grants. Neighbors in Need grants are awarded to UCC churches and organizations doing justice work in their communities. These grants fund projects whose work ranges from direct service to community organizing and advocacy to address systemic injustice. This year, special consideration will be given to projects focusing on serving our immigrant neighbors and communities. We will be receiving the NIN offering on October 7, 2018 as part of our World Communion Sunday observance. Weekly Meditation: How do you welcome little children into your presence?
