4 Church Membership: Anyone interested in membership at Mt. Hope is invited to an informational meeting after worship today, July 17 th in the Pastors office. New members Sunday will be August 14 th. Let a Pastor know if you re interested in joining! Vacation Bible School: Vacation Bible School at Mt Hope is July from 6:30 8:00, registration at 6:00. Our theme is Barnyard Friends. Come join us for some barnyard fun. Early Registration - Fill out and turn in the registration form by July 10th and receive a prize. Registration forms are available in the Breezeway and in the Narthex. For more information contact Carmen Cox, ccox@labcorp.com or Office Hours: Shirley will be out of the office on Wednesday, July 27 th, due to a doctor s appointment. She will be in all day on Thursday and Friday of that week. Thanks! Strengthen The Church (STC) is a special mission offering to reimagine and build the future of the UCC. Shared at the conference and national levels, STC largely supports youth ministries and full-time leaders for new churches in parts of the country where the UCC voice has not been heard. As God calls our congregations to be the "church" in new ways, your generosity will plant new churches, awaken new ideas in existing churches and develop the spiritual life in our youth and young adults. STC funds will also be used to award grants to help congregations communicate the "God is still speaking," message. We will be receiving the Strengthen the Church offering on Sunday, July 31 st. New Pastors Installation Weekend: The installation service for Rev. Lynne Hinton and Rev. Kristin Gerner Vaughn will be held on Sunday, August 28. We are planning two days worth of exciting activities to celebrate their installation, starting with a Farmer s Market on Saturday morning, August 27 th. The Farmer s Market will be held from 8:00 am 12:00 noon in the church parking lot on Old Julian Road. We would like to have vendors to sell their home-grown vegetables, homemade crafts, artwork, baked goods, etc. There will be no charge for the booth and you may keep all of the profits from your sales. You will need to bring your own table and canopy/tent (you will need shade). This is not a church fund-raising event it s a community fellowship event! We are also hoping to involve other area churches. 6 Our youth are working each month to prepare care packages for the homeless. They pack the bags on the third Sunday of each month in order to deliver them on the fourth Sunday. This is a ministry in which the entire church family can participate. Below you will find a list of the items that are used each month to pack the bags. Please be thinking about the list of items that are needed and pick up a few things at a time when you are able. It might be a good idea to keep the list with you as shop to help you remember what is needed. There are boxes in the hallway of the educational building to leave them. What a wonderful way to show God s love to those who are less fortunate than we are! Thank you!!
