And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. - Matthew 28:19-20 PARISH VISION STATEMENT They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles<they ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved. - Acts 2:42 AS A PARISH, WE WILL FULFILL THE MISSION AND LIVE THE VISION BY... Becoming a worshiping people who give praise and glory to God by keeping the Lord s day Holy, by celebrating Holy Mass on Sunday, and by encountering the Lord Jesus in the sacramental life and daily prayer. Becoming a missionary people who live our Catholic faith on a daily basis in witness of the Lord Jesus to the world; to our family, our neighbors, our friends, and our co-workers. In this way Jesus is known by the fruit of our lives and in our love for others; this is at the heart of evangelization and catechesis. Becoming a merciful people who put our faith into action by practicing the spiritual and corporal works of mercy: The Spiritual Works of Mercy: instructing, advising, consoling, and comforting The Corporal Works of Mercy: feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead May He support us all the day long, till the shades lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Head over to the cafeteria after Mass and those brave and loyal scouts will be waiting to fill your coffee cup and serve you pancakes with all the fixings! CALLED TO SERVE AS CHRIST You should be receiving another letter from Archbishop Sartain in the mail in the next week which will include additional information about the Called to Serve as Christ Campaign and a pledge card and a return envelope. Please prayerfully consider what you can offer in support of our retired and active Priests and Women Religious to provide for them a safe, secure retirement. Please send in your pledge card and remember 15% of your donation will be returned to Saint Mark! Please list your deceased loved ones that you would like to pray for on the front and return the offering envelopes in the Sunday collection, or drop them off or mail them in to the Parish Office by November 1 st for inclusion in the novena. All Saints & All Souls Masses All Saints Day is Thursday, November 1 st and is a Holy Day of Obligation. We will be celebrating Mass at 9:00 am & 7:00 pm. All Souls Day is Friday, November 2 nd and Mass with the school will be held at 9:00 am immediately followed by First Friday Exposition & Adoration in the Church until 6:45 pm when the Benediction service will begin. The Solemn Requiem Mass will follow at 7:00 in which the names of deceased parishioners and persons whose funerals were held here from the past year will be read aloud and prayed for individually. While it is not a Holy Day of Obligation, everyone is welcome to attend and pray for our faithful departed. SVDP FOOD COLLECTION WEEKEND Next weekend, November 3 rd & 4 th, is the monthly food collection for our St. Vincent de Paul Society. Bring your donations to Mass with you so that we can continue to assist those in need in our community. Thank you. 5 FAITH FORMATION N SEATTLE CATHOLIC YOUTH Registration for N Seattle Catholic Youth is now open. Sunday Gatherings have begun for Middle School and High School teens! Middle School teens in grades 6-8 meet each Sunday at St. Catherine Parish from 5:00 6:15 pm. Consider inviting a friend to join you! A community meal will follow beginning at 6:15 pm. Please join us for our Halloween Party on October 28. This event will take place during our regular Sunday gathering time. Teens are invited to come in their favorite Halloween costume. We will be discussing the Catholic roots of Halloween, All Saints Day and All Souls Day. Our goal is to articulate the reasons we believe in God and develop tools to express this belief. Any high school student is welcomed to join a small group. We have two options offered each week. Sundays, at 7:00 pm at St. Catherine Thursdays, at 7:00 pm at Christ the King CONFIRMATION INFORMATION Confirmation registration is now open! All High School students are invited to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation! Registration is now open at and closes on December 3.
