Baptism Preparation A Baptism Preparation Course for infants will take place this Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 pm in Guardian Angels Church. If you are not registered, please pick up forms at the Rectory Office. Workshops/Retreats October 13, 2018 FIRST ANNUAL DAY OF REFLECTION FOR MEN Jesus Christ: Timeless Model for Men of Today. Presenter: Father Séamus Hogan Workshops and Retreats are held on Saturdays at St. Augustine s Scarborough campus from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. (including Mass). Cost is $50 including lunch. 4 Guardian Angels Parish Annual Fall Festival Bazaar The Bazaar will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the parish hall. Browse the Booths! Bring a Neighbour, a Friend, or a Group! Enjoy a Great Lunch for only $8.00! With your help it can be another great success! Offer your help by contributing items or money to the booths or offer your services to help. It s a great way to meet others and it is a lot of fun! Come One! Come All! To the Fall Festival Bazaar! Each week we will share a few items in need to make our Bazaar a Success! Baked Goods, Candy, Preserves Helen Mallon & Rita Chapman Baked goods are always in demand and are terrific sellers at our Bazaar. Please bring in your homemade breads, rolls, fancy breads, pies, tarts, cookies, coffee cakes and squares. If you have a specialty of your own, now is the chance to share it. Please label nuts, peanut butter etc. We need all kinds of fudge, taffy, hard candies, candied apples, popcorn balls, granola bars, licorice, gum drops, suckers, cereal type squares with marshmallows and chocolate. How about a jar or two of your special family pickles, relish, preserves, jams etc (Government Health Code) must be in new sealers, labelled with contents and date made. Please drop off your donations at the parish hall no later than Friday, October 26 between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. We need time to display and price. Thank- you.

5 Announced Masses The Rectory Office is now booking Announced Masses from October 1, 2018 to March 31, Rosary Making Everyone is welcome to help make rosaries from found beads! When: Second and Fourth Tuesdays of October & November Time: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Dates: October 9, October 23 November 13, November 27 Where: Parish Hall Bring: Smile Contact: Sharon at Parish Headcount Once again this year, we will be conducting a parish headcount on two weekends in Churches across the Archdiocese. This will begin October 13/14 and October 20/21. This information is to help provide an accurate profile of Mass attendance in the Archdiocese. RCIC: Rite of Christian Initiation for Children Preparation for Baptism of children 2 to 12 years, who were not baptized as infants in the Catholic Church. Classes will begin Sunday, October 14 during the 9:00 am Mass in the St. Michael s Chapel for 5 weeks. Baptism will take place on Sunday, November 18 at 1:00 pm in Guardian Angels Church. To register please pick-up application form at the Parish Office.

6 Catholic Women s League Monday, October 15 with Mass celebrated at 7:00 pm followed by the General Meeting at 7:30 pm in the parish hall. There will be ballets for nominations for our new council These will be for anyone who has not done so. A big thank you ladies for your donations of school supplies for Orillia Youth Centre. * Also please bring a food donation for our Food Hamper for the Bazaar. 7 Guardian Angels Church Construction The Building Commission has advised that construction of the school lot; circle driveway and sidewalks will be closed with no access to the Church. The Adoration Chapel; Sewing Ministry; Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Vinnies will also be closed during the period of construction. Parking for Sunday and Weekday Masses Parking on Penetang Street, Mundells if there is no funeral or visitations going on. When school commences no parking in Lion s Oval for the noon Mass. Saturday and Sunday Masses as usual Chairs will also be set up in the Church Hall with audio video from the main floor with Eucharist served at the appropriate time. This is for those having difficulty getting into the Church but would enter Church Hall from the Penetang Street entrance. Church Office Please park on Penetang Street. Enter the Church near the side steps (there will be a sign to direct you); cross in front of altar and proceed to the door beside religious articles room. Ring the door bell and someone will be with you shortly. The entrance will be open from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, closed for lunch from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and open from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Monday to Thursday. Friday from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Your full cooperation is requested during the period of construction. The end result will be a parking lot with more coordinated parking. St Columbkille 40 Hour Devotion 40 Hours Devotion will begin at 7:00 pm with Mass (St. Columbkille Church) on Friday, October 12 until Sunday, October 14, You are invited to spend at least one hour of devotion with Our Lord during this time of exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
