This season urgently calls us to conversion. Christians are asked to return to God "with all their hearts (Joel 2:12), to refuse to settle for mediocrity and to grow in friendship with the Lord. Jesus is the faithful friend who never abandons us. Even when we sin, he patiently awaits our return; by that patient expectation, he shows us his readiness to forgive (cf. Homily, 8 January 2016). Lent is a favorable season for deepening our spiritual life through the means of sanctification offered us by the Church: fasting, prayer and almsgiving. At the basis of everything is the word of God, which during this season we are invited to hear and ponder more deeply. I would now like to consider the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (cf. Lk 16:19-31). Let us find inspiration in this meaningful story, for it provides a key to understanding what we need to do in order to attain true happiness and eternal life. It exhorts us to sincere conversion. FACTS IS OPEN and accepting applications for the school year. Last year s tax returns may be used when completing FACTS. Note: Tuition for is $4,975. INCLUDED IN THIS LETTER IS A T- SHIRT ORDER FORM PLEASE RETURN NO LATER THAN MARCH 10, GRANDPARENTS DAY Grandparents Day is scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, Invitations will be included in next week s brown envelope. The online fair opens on 3/12/17 and runs through 3/25/17. Students will be shopping on Tuesday, 3/21/17 and will also be operational during Grandparent's Day on Wednesday, 3/ Stay tuned for more information in next week s brown envelope. Music News: Extra-Curricular schedules were distributed to students earlier this week. Please remind your children to bring their instruments and music books to school each Friday.

Saint Teresa of Calcutta This month, we focus on mercy. Let the words of St. Teresa of Calcutta inspire you to see Christ in every person you encounter. Whether it s your children, spouse, co-worker, or even that one person that you would really rather avoid, try this month to treat them as you would treat Jesus. For Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:40, I assure you, as often as you did it for one of my least brothers, you did it for me. SPORTS NEWS: INSTRUCTIONAL BASKETBALL: Instructional Basketball begins THIS Saturday, March 4 th for students in Kindergarten through Second Grade. This week s session will be held at LES and begins at 4:00 pm. VOLLEYBALL: Volleyball season begins this weekend also. Your coaches will be in touch soon with game/practice schedules. ALL paperwork/payments should have been received by the

4 main office. If you have not taken care of this, your daughter will NOT be eligible to play until these obligations have been met.
