And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. - Matthew 28:19-20 PARISH VISION STATEMENT They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles;they ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. Becoming a worshiping people who give praise and glory to God by keeping the Lord s day Holy, by celebrating Holy Mass on Sunday, and by encountering the Lord Jesus in the sacramental life and daily prayer. Becoming a missionary people who live our Catholic faith on a daily basis in witness of the Lord Jesus to the world; to our family, our neighbors, our friends, and our co-workers. In this way Jesus is known by the fruit of our lives and in our love for others; this is at the heart of evangelization and catechesis. Becoming a merciful people who put our faith into action by practicing the spiritual and corporal works of mercy: The Spiritual Works of Mercy: instructing, advising, consoling, and comforting The Corporal Works of Mercy: feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead May He support us all the day long, till the shades lengthen and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. TUESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY Tuesday morning Bible study will return on Tuesday, September 17 th at 8:45 am in Sullivan Hall (immediately following morning Mass). This year we will be studying the Book of Isaiah from Catholic Scripture Study, written by Fr. Mitch Pacaw, S.J. The Book of Isaiah is the second longest book of the Bible and is quoted 63 times in the New Testament. St. Jerome called it the gospel of the Old Testament. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join this bible study group! Think about it. Pray about it and please consider joining us for this beautiful series. MARK SPIRITUAL ADOPTION Please continue to pray daily for the 53 babies spiritually adopted by our parish. We will conclude our Spiritual Adoption Program in January, 2019 with a baby shower. It can be found in the church on the podium to the left of the Pieta statue. This is a place where you can write down the concerns of your heart, either for your loved ones or for the world at large. 7 WALK THE JOURNEY WITH US SMALL GROUP MINISTERS FOR YOUTH N Seattle Catholic Youth is looking for Catholic role models who love Jesus and like teens! Research shows that to promote a life-long Catholic faith, teens need to be able to identify 5 adults who have intentionally walked with them on their faith journey. We are looking to foster these relationships in a small group setting and we need you! Each adult small group minister will be assigned an adult partner and a group of 8-12 students to journey with for the school year.
