And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. - Matthew 28:19-20 PARISH VISION STATEMENT They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles:they ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved. - Acts 2:42 AS A PARISH, WE WILL FULFILL THE MISSION AND LIVE THE VISION BY... Becoming a worshiping people who give praise and glory to God by keeping the Lord s day Holy, by celebrating Holy Mass on Sunday, and by encountering the Lord Jesus in the sacramental life and daily prayer. Becoming a missionary people who live our Catholic faith on a daily basis in witness of the Lord Jesus to the world; to our family, our neighbors, our friends, and our co-workers. In this way Jesus is known by the fruit of our lives and in our love for others; this is at the heart of evangelization and catechesis. Becoming a merciful people who put our faith into action by practicing the spiritual and corporal works of mercy: The Spiritual Works of Mercy: instructing, advising, consoling, and comforting The Corporal Works of Mercy: feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead

4 PARISH LIFE PARKING FOR SUNDAY MASS Please park only in designated parking spaces at all times. Some parishioners are parking along the curb in front of the church, particularly during the 11:00 am Mass. This dangerous practice could impede rescue vehicles in case of emergency or the Access bus which transports many of our disabled or frail parishioners. If you need to pull up along the curb to allow someone who is frail or disabled to get out of your car that is fine; just please move your car to a designated parking spot once your passenger is safely away from the vehicle. Keep our parish and parishioners safe! THANK YOU FROM RESPECT LIFE Thank you so much to everyone who supported, attended and served at our 8 th Annual Respect Life dinner at the parish last Saturday. The support given to 3W Medical for Women was amazing. Many of its staff and even a few on its Board of Directors attended the evening and were available to share information and answer questions about the clinic and its focus. A special thanks to the Knights of Columbus and our Chef Joe who put on a great dinner despite having to overcome broken kitchen equipment. We are blessed to have a supportive group of parishioners who step up to help promote a culture of life in our community! ST. MARK PARISH AUCTION 2019 The event of the season will be Saturday, May 11, 2019! St. Mark will bring you the Orient Express for a night of fun, community and raising money for our school. Mark your calendars and help us make this year s auction a night to remember. Please consider donating to support our auction. Please list your deceased loved ones that you would like to pray for on the front and return the offering envelopes in the Sunday collection, or drop them off or mail them in to the Parish Office by November 1 st for inclusion in the novena. All Saints & All Souls Masses All Saints Day is Thursday, November 1 st and is a Holy Day of Obligation. We will be celebrating Mass at 9:00 am & 7:00 pm. All Souls Day is Friday, November 2 nd and Mass with the school will be held at 9:00 am immediately followed by First Friday Exposition & Adoration in the Church until 6:45 pm when the Benediction service will begin. The Solemn Requiem Mass will follow at 7:00 in which the names of deceased parishioners and persons whose funerals were held here from the past year will be read aloud and prayed for individually. While it is not a Holy Day of Obligation, everyone is welcome to attend and pray for our faithful departed. ST. MARK SCOUTS SPONSOR FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT Our St. Mark Parish Boy Scout Troop 309 is hosting a family movie night this Friday, October 19 th at 6:30 pm in the gym. Family movie night is open to all school, parish and community families. The movie is Wall-E and admission is free. Popcorn and snacks will be available for purchase. SUNDAY 7:30 AM LECTOR NEEDED Vacancies remain that we need to fill for lectoring at the Sunday 7:30 am Masses. Commitment would be to lector once a month or once every other month depending on the number of weekends in a given month or if substitutes are needed. Lectors are responsible for proclaiming the First and Second Readings and the Prayers of the Faithful and training will be provided. Twenty-four hours a day, every day, a member of our parish is praying before the Blessed Sacrament.
