In this way, He can live, as Risen Lord, in our midst and attract all people to the Father. As part of the Church, we want to be a Home and School of Communion where, through the celebration and living out the Sacraments, and various ministries, each member can live in unity as a child of God, building up the Kingdom of God until Jesus will come again in glory.

(Jer 31:3) Deacon s Corner Accepting our Loved Ones Gifts In today s Gospel, Jesus friends and neighbors have limited vision of him because they knew him growing up. How sad it is when we limit someone else because of preconceived ideas. Isn t he the son of Joseph? Do we say the same about others in our lives? Jesus could not perform miracles in his hometown because of their lack of belief. Do we do the same to our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, friends and coworkers? Are we over critical of our family and do we place expectations on one another? In our first Reading Elijah cries out This is enough Lord take my life.i cannot. And the Lord instructed him to eat and drink. Sleep and nutrition is extremely important for us to continue on our journey with the Lord. It is important to keep ourselves fit to keep the world and its deadly messages away from us. Remember it is important that we are best prepared for what we put ourselves through: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. St Paul reminds us not grieve the Holy Spirit rather embrace Him. St. Paul stated that we must give our bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling away to Christ. When we give them to Christ he will replace it so that we will be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ. We are the teachers of our little ones. How we handle our emotions and how we speak to one another are the foundations of our family s ability to love. For a family and its members to strive we must have Christ as the center of our lives. Jesus reveals that he is the Bread that came down from Heaven. The Bread he gave us will lead you to eternal life. Participating as a family in the Divine Feast is the single greatest act of love that the family can do together. Parents who are lead their families to the table of plenty tend to develop a healthy family that strive to Love unconditionally, and share their gifts without hesitation. If we truly love unconditionally then we must let our love ones grow unconditionally and scrap their knees. If we don t allow one another to reach for their stars and follow their callings, we run the risk of missing the talents that God has given them. Let our prayer and mission for this week be one of looking at one another s strength and weaknesses and helping other to search for their gift and talent allowing them to use it for the glory of God. 3 NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME The Cathedral of Saint Peter is in need of our help. The weekend of August 18 & 19, a special collection for the maintenance and preservation of the Cathedral of Saint Peter will be taken up in all parishes in our diocese. We are also accepting Gently Used and clean house hold items, toys, linens and jewelry for the bazaar and appreciate it if you can bring your items on Wednesday mornings as there is someone to help you to unload. ALSO, NO ELECTRONICS PLEASE. Thank you for helping us build up our inventory for the Bazaar Stores. The raffle tickets keep coming in and we are most thankful to you who are have sent them in and also those who return the ones they can not purchase so we can use them. Also, a special thank you to the ladies and gentlemen who have been selling tickets after Masses each weekend. You are really super! If you would like to help out selling, please give the office a call and we will set you up with Kim or Linda! Thanks again. The Bus will be at Mystic Harbor Pool parking lot at 7:30a.m. Leaving at 7:45a.m. for Lancaster, Pa. (Sharp) Goodies will be served on the bus. A long time ago God's people ate manna in the desert, because there was no other food to eat. By sending manna falling from the sky every morning, God taught his people to trust him. Manna tasted good, and it kept them healthy. God took care of them and gave them all they needed. Then, hundreds of years later, God sent Jesus down from heaven, so people could have everlasting life with him. Prayer Dear God, thank you for sending Jesus down from heaven so that we can look forward to living with you forever in heaven. Amen. Something to Draw Draw a picture of manna falling out of the sky. 5 NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Wow!!! How many will be able to join us Wednesday evening for the Feast of the Assumption? We will have beautiful Mass celebrated by Bishop Malooly and Concelebrated by some of our local priests. Having been raised is another Seaside resort the Assumption holds great memories for me. For as long as I can remember I have been taking part in The Feast of the Assumption Mass and the traditional Blessing of the Ocean. As a kid I can remember a great sense of pride being able to walk with all the adults and other Children through the streets of Wildwood to the waters edge and to listen as Father blessed the water and recounted all the Blessings we receive from it ~ food, livelihoods, entertainment, protection and energy!! We also remembered the Lifeguards with prayers and thanks! We, here at St. Mary, Star of the Sea celebrate in a similar fashion also remembering to thank all of our first responders ~ Police, Fire, EMT, as well as the Beach Patrol! We native Ocean Cityians owe so much to the waters and those who serve to protect and maintain! Could you image a summer without any part? So I have always considered it an honor to participate!! We usually have so many that join us and there are so many awesome moments...and it is multigenerational! We are always escorted by the Knights of Columbus, lead by our magnificent choir and generally we have some awesome youth who do a beautiful job as our Altar servers! I am always so proud of the way the conducted themselves!! An Awesome job as parish every year! I will also put a call out for our youth to carry the cross and am hoping for a wonderful response and a beautiful assortment of ages! It is always a beautiful sign of Unity! It was a beautiful statement! As the procession heads forward, I am at the Boardwalk waiting and answering questions and am always taken by the impact our presences has on those watching, Christians and non-christians alike! The questions I answer and the conversations held are awesome!! Truly an awesome humbling experience! I truly hope that many of you can come and participate and witness to our awesome faith!! We will be starting Religious Education on Sunday, October 7 with pre k to 6 th Grade meeting immediately after the 10 AM Mass and being dismissed Pre to grade 2 at and Grades 3 to 6 at 1225!! Our Teens grade 7 to 10 meet in the Evening at 6PM to 7 PM. ***There are Parent Meetings On this day, October 7, 2018 ~ Pre K to 6 th grade Parent Meeting 11:30 to 12. Teens do not have class this week. Parent meeting only at 6PM From the desk of Mark J. Record, Principal Over the summer months, our teachers and staff will have the opportunity to further their instructional expertise through a comprehensive program of professional development. On August 6 th, 7 th and 8th we presented our annual three-day session on the topic of Arts Integration. Participants will develop strategies for integrating the arts (visual, music, dance and drama) into the academic curricula. Funding for our professional development program comes from Title II-Part A federal funding. Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School is currently accepting applications for enrollment for the academic year. We offer Pre-K 3, Pre-K 4 programs with a full or half day option. We also have availability in K through 8th grades. MBS is a STREAM school that emphasizes the intellectual, spiritual, and physical development of every child. We offer before and after-care as well as bus service for our Delaware residents.
