2 NOVEMBER 6, 2016 THIRTY SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Pastors Message: The Sadducees try to catch Jesus in a trap to disprove the truth of the Resurrec on, but as always Jesus eludes their trap and challenges their mistaken belief about life a er death. Jesus debunks their simplis c logic and reminds them that those found worthy of the Resurrec on will not be bound by the ways and customs of earth, such as marriage, but will be children of God in a higher more profound way. Jesus goes on to challenge them to remind them God is the God of the living. That is the truth Jesus came to proclaim through His life and teaching, but most especially in His Resurrec on. Is that a truth that we not only believe in but live in our lives? Renovation of Ascension Church Thank you to everyone for your generous contributions, so far we have raised just over $21,000. We are getting there! Please remember every little bit helps us to have to borrow less money to complete the renovation. We are still in the process of bidding out the work and are still on track to begin renovation work in mid-january. Please note we will have weekend liturgies in the church during construction, however all daily Masses and funerals will be moved up to St. Augustine during construction. If we hope to finish on time we cannot keep interrupting work throughout the week for daily Mass and funerals, so thank you for your understanding on this. We also have received many of the memorialized items we need, we still have one left: Refinishing Tabernacle-$1800 Contact Fr. John for more information.
