3 St. Francis of Assisi Thanksgiving Food Drive Every year St. Francis prepares thanksgiving food baskets for the needy of our Sister parish of St. Benedict. How You Can Help: Each week we will collect food items on the list below. Please place any items in the grocery cart in the vestibule. All donations to the poor box in November will be used to purchase the Turkeys. The guest presenter will be Howard County Master Gardener Paul Beares, who will discuss perennials. Fall is a great time to divide perennials in your garden. Bring your excess plants to share. Prison Ministry Prison Fellowship seeks to restore those affected by crime and incarceration by introducing prisoners, victims and their families to a new hope available through Jesus Christ. They accomplish this by training and inspiring churches and communities inside and outside of prison to support the restoration of those affected by incarceration. They equip wardens, prison staff, and volunteers, including men and women serving time, to create safer, more rehabilitative prisons that prepare prisoners to return to their communities as good neighbors. They advocate for a criminal justice system that upholds restorative values so that communities are safer, victims are respected, and those who have caused harm are transformed.

5 Eucharistic Minister Visits Homebound, Sick or Elderly All Eucharistic Ministers who visit or want to visit the sick are invited to an Administrative Meeting. St. John the Evangelist, Wilde Lake Interfaith Center, Twin Rivers Road Columbia, MD Wednesday, October 26, 7pm Eucharistic Ministers who visit hospitals, nursing homes or homebound in Howard County will be participating. Those who are interested in Eucharistic Ministry may attend. Please bring questions and topics for discussion. No need to RSVP. These include Archdiocesan 2nd Collections, Poor Box Collections, Donations for Social Concerns, and Health Ministry Contributions. The largest commitment of the Parish's resources is allocated to worship services and liturgies ($215,908). Some of these areas of expense include liturgical staff compensation, extra clergy, guest musicians, sacristan expense, flowers/decorations for Christmas and Easter, printed music, baptismal expenses, candles, instrument maintenance, liturgical supplies, resource publications, bread and wine. (prepared by the Finance Committee) Religious Education (Youth and Adult) Fees cover only 23% of the total Religious Education expense which includes Archdiocesan student assessment fees, supplies, postage, texts/manuals, staff expenses, speakers, Advent/Lent materials, and sacramental preparation expenses.

7 St. Francis of Assisi Parish Capital and Other Non-Operating Revenue/Expense - Fiscal Year Capital and Other Non-Operating Revenue and Expense identify activities which pertain to Parish's Mortgage, Archdiocesan Capital Campaigns, the Archdiocesan Annual Lenten Appeal, and Parish Facility Extraordinary Repairs Expense. 100% of the Annual Lenten Appeal Donations were distributed to two charities ($12,629). $24,392 received from "Embracing Our Mission" Archdiocesan Campaign donations were used to pay for Facility Extraordinary Repairs. $140,481 in Mortgage donations were used to pay capital expenses and monthly mortgage, while the proceeds from the sale of the old rectory helped to fund the purchase of the new rectory.
